“Boutique Look/Feel without the Attitude...”
Reviewed March 5, 2012

A lovely old building with a stunning architectural renovation.
Huge, well appointed room with massive ceilings.
Most rooms have zero view (out the side of the building), so if you need or want a view or direct light, your only option is to book a room facing the front.
Lobby area is very cool, & there are many adjacent options for drinks or food.
Public parking next door is reasonably priced with validation.
A very 'boutique' looking & feeling hotel without any attitude.

Room Tip: Front room is the only option if you want light or view

Very nice characterful hotel at quiet end of Flinders Street, free city circle tourist tram stop right outside was real bonus! Very modern well equipped room, spotless and very comfortable, don't expect a view though (assume it can be had for extra cost), we looked out on a brick wall, but it was quiet and very private! Boutique style, very tall rooms! Excellent reception staff, polite and helpful. Would recommend, very good value for city centre

Wonderful team - intelligent, courteous, pleasant and with personality ( not rote or feigned customer service friendliness). Brilliantly clean, impeccable and incredibly comfortable furnishings both in room and lobby. most comforable hotel bed and freshest linens in years. great room service menu - no fuss, simple, nourishing and elegant menu with reasonable pricing and very fast delivery. Have never been so impressed by overall quality with no flaws. mostly due to human skill, efficiency and service levels and a nice collaborative working environment that could be felt among the staff. makes such a difference to know people are happy when serving you.

A lovely place to stay in Melbourne. Great location with easy walking access to Melbourne & Richmond. Beautifully presented retaining and displaying some of the buildings history. The billiard table is gorgeous & a great feature. Nice to have a game while enjoying the bar area.
Highly recommend it.

everything was perfect except our bed was uncomfortable (too soft and a bit like a canoe) and our pillows too soft. we asked for firmer pillows and more arrived but they were the same as the others. the bed was also too small...I would have thought all hotel rooms could use king sized beds by now? but these were minor in the scheme of things. I would still return. great room, and we asked for a room on the front and got it which was great (overlooking the street). loved the decor, and the bathrooms were nice. Lovely lobby too all round winner, (except for the pillows!)

Room Tip: I would ask for a room overlooking the front street. Not too noisy, and nice view and very large win...

The hotel has a couple of challenges that can't be solved such as the view out to a car park. However, the things the staff and management can control like the atmosphere and the service have taken me back at least 8 times in the last year. Perhaps if I were on holidays I MIGHT view other aspects differently but as a a place to stay on business, close to everything and where you feel welcome and not like a number. The staff are great with a special mention for the 2 young ladies (almost twins!) who serve breakfasts in the resturant - delightful!

We recently stayed at the Hotel Lindrum for our first trip to the Australian Open.
The proximity to Melbourne Parc was great, it was a very easy walk. There were
many cafe's within a short distance as well. The room was well appointed and
we were very comfortable. The ceilings were high and that made the room feel
even more spacious. Many people have written about the car park next to
the Lindrum. Our window did look out over the car park and while the view was
non-existent, we didn't feel like it was an issue at all since we were only there
for the tennis.

Room Tip: If a view is important for you, ask for a room that looks over Flinders street.
