Love this hotel, rooms beautiful, spacious, love alluvial the restaurant, one of the best Buffett breakfasts I have ever had, brilliant choice.
Nice pool, helpful staff.
Good position in Melbourne approx 10 mins walk from most places you'd want to see

Room Tip: They're all good face inwards no views-- unless you book the turret room!! First class all the way!!

Booked last Nov as got a good rate for a wedding anniversary. Upgraded to an iconic suite from junior suite and room was amazing! Lovely friendly greeting from the concierge & efficient check in. Club lounge service was good - tried afternoon tea, canapés & breakfast. My friends did have a problem with their room & you know a great hotel when there is a high level of customer service. Well done Rialto for restoring our faith & we will be back.

I missed my flight and had to overnight in Melbourne, With my laptop and iphone flat I had to go straight to front desk and ask for the cheapest overnight rate. At 10pm and checking out again at 6.00am all I needed was a basic room for the night. For $298 I received a comfortable room at the end of the hallway on a low floor and could not have been more happy with it for the price. For the business traveller if you can secure a good rate this hotel is well located , all the usual 5 star facilities you would expect. Staff were all very friendly , courteous and professional and just get on with their job. Intercon is a low risk option and it would be very rare to have a bad experience with them anywhere in the world

The Intercontinental is located in a reasonably good location, being close to some decent shopping locations, malls, restaurant and casino. As a building i would rate it at the higher end in comparison to other properties, it is a building with character for sure. As for the rooms, standard Intercontinental Rooms that provide the basics (Deluxe Room). To be fair, the size of the rooms are good, the noise levels are fine, Tv is in an odd place, bathrooms are standard, but overall, on a rating for hotels in this part of the world, the rooms are good.

Restaurants, tried the Italian and it was good with a decent atmosphere, however the breakfast was really not worth the cost and probably a good idea that i opted out, however if the rate is decent with the breakfast included, then its ok. Typical hotel standard breakfast really.

Staff are friendly and willing to help. Not sure some of the advise provided was accurate on locations to visit. So maybe suggest speaking to friends or just going by the guides available. Chapel Street Shopping, very average, The Crown, very high end with lots of restaurants and higher end shops (Worth a visit for shopping or dinner or losing money in the casino). Shops down on Collins Street also worthy the visit, some decent little restaurants down side streets.

Wish i had a little more time to visit Melbourne in more depth.

Overall on the Intercontinental, decent property and would rate it as one of the top 3 in Melbourne.
