We stayed in the apartment and were very comfortable. The staff were very helpful whenever we needed any extras linen etc. The apartment was cleaned daily. oOly negative was the lacl of a fresh smell in the bathroom after it had been cleaned. Top marks for a comfy bed!

Needed to make a quick overnight stop in melbourne with teenage son and his friend. We found the Ibis because it was reasonably close to Melbourne University and right near RMIT. I have not stayed with Ibis previously as Sofitel is my preference when on business so was intererested to see what our experience would be and have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. It is not glamourous and the entrance and reception is a bit gloomy but we had a clean, comfortable stay. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was nicely furnished, quiet, light and functional. Good sitting area, basic kitchen, functional bathroom with seperate toilet area and plenty of storage space in bedrooms. Air conditioned and windows dont open,

We chose the breakfast option and this was also good value for teenagers who eat a lot. Have to commend the breakfast area manager who sorted out a few glitches we had with our pre paid breakfast vouchers very smoothly and who was very helpful and courteous. All staff in the cafe were really friendly. Unfortunately reception at checkout were not as friendly. Simply doing their busy job. Would i stay again? Yes as it was good value and has very easy access to trams in either swanson or elizabeth streets.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on higher floor as they will have more light. Rooms at back are quieter

Very convenient location with neat and tidy rooms. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We ate at the restaurant both for breakfast and tea and both meals were very good. Will definitely stay there again.

Enjoyed my stay at the Ibis. it is well located for the city centre as well as for the Queen Victoria Markets, North Melbourne and Carlton.

The staff at reception were friendly and efficient.

Two small suggestions for the room. Firstly, a wastepaper bin would be good (there was a bin in the bathroom, but not in the room itself). Secondly, a second chair would be useful. I shared the room with my adult son and we took turns sitting on a chair to watch television or to use the computer,

This hotel is conveniently located near the Queen Vic Markets, historic City Baths, transport, cafes and shops. Easy walk to Melbourne. A group of us stayed in a 2 bedroom flat on level 6. Well serviced room by mostly polite, competent and friendly staff. Lovely comfortable beds. Need a sharp knife for fruit and cheese purchases. Only gripes are - no full-length mirror - have mentioned this for 5 years now. Other rooms have them; lack of room service and no Grab and Go (DIY room service) menu in the room. Approached reception, they had run out and we were given a full menu, which was not right. When I rang to order, was told to come down and get the correct one, then come back again later and pick up the food! I realise they are trying to keep costs down but this was a very disappointing response. I think the menu should be available on the reception computer for staff to print off if they run out of hard copies. We got takeaway Japanese from one of many nearby reataurants.
However, the Ibis is overall very good and we will definately be back - hopefully the full length mirror and correct G n G Menu will be there next year.

Room Tip: I do not think there is a swimming pool, however the wonderful and historic Melbourne City Baths are...

Dear C_Hoal,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us.

It is pleasing to read that you and your family had enjoyable stay in a two bedroom apartment. These rooms prove to be very popular with families and groups.

We are very fortunate to be located near the Queen Victoria Markets as it is one of Melbourne’s most popular places.

Thank you once again and we hope welcome you back to ibis Melbourne soon.

Sincerely,
