In town for a conference, and also celebrating our honeymoon. Booked 7 nights at this property. As a Hyatt Diamond member I was offered an "upgrade" to a bit of a larger room--but when we got to it, we learned that it shared a wall with the elevator shaft, so there was the constant "swooshing" noise of the weights going up and down. At first, we thought it was a train, since we saw one outdoors--but then we discovered the sound happened even when the train was gone and a little exploring led us to learn it was the elevator. Not wanting to be disturbed by the noise all night long, we asked for a different room. At that point we also shared it was our honeymoon. We were quickly given a different room (a bit smaller: HINT: All of the rooms ending with 27 share the wall with the elevator shaft: they are odd shaped and a bit larger in terms of square feet--if you don't mind the muffled sound they could be nice rooms.) The new room (ending in 06) was a corner room, with windows on two sides giving a great view of Melbourne. When we got to the room, we received a bottle of champagne to help us celebrate our honeymoon. It was a very nice, unexpected surprise. We bought a plan that included buffet breakfast each morning--it was very nice with eggs cooked to order, ham, bacon, sausage, variety of toasts, cheeses, plenty of fruit, pastries, waffles/pancakes cooked to order, juices, etc. The service was always helpful and friendly. Same for the Club Lounge on the 31st floor--cocktail reception each night featured a nice spread and helpful hostesses. This property also features a nice gym with heated indoor pool, large weight room, cardio equipment, spin classes and many other classes. Locker rooms include steam/sauna which is nice for a relaxing heat up at the end of a long day. In all, we had a great stay and would recommend this hotel for a traveler looking for a nice location (plenty of restaurants and nice shops in the immediate area) with a very friendly staff.
