This Hotel has the potential to be great, the location is good and the rooms were set out well. However there are some areas that need some work. We stayed here for 2 night for a family girls weekend and we had 3 rooms booked out in total. 2 out of the 3 rooms were not clean at all and also had rubbish around the room. The bathrooms were clean however the shower was unsafe. The water would change unexpectedly to only cold or only hot. It burned by daughter when she was having a shower as it would change without warning. The other annoying thing about the bathroom was that the light was connected to one of the lights in the main room so to have the light on in the bathroom you needed the light in the room on. My sister was staying in one room with her young daughter who was sleeping so she either had to turn the main light on or use the bathroom in the dark.
We wouldn't stay here again.

Where do I start......
Drive into the front entrance to find there was a car pile up!
We didn't move our car butt off Queens Rd for a good 5 mins. Thought we'd get hit for sure. The car in front of us had been waiting 15 mins before the one in front of them decided to move. Did staff come out and assist with traffic jam? Nope!
Walked in and was greeted by a grumpy old man who pointed to his right to check in. The layout is terrible. I was a little lost.
Got our keys and parked the car.
The decor is very dated but clean enough.
Asked for the twin beds to be pushed together for a king size feel cos were a couple and when we go to the room, nope! Our request was not actioned or even acknowledged. So I became an interior designer and rearranged the room!
Decided to test out the spa and sauna. Sauna was great. No instructions though. Spa was great but again, no instructions. Radio didn't work. Not clock. Speakers look like they're going to fall off. Spa had a grimy rim. This does not happen in a 24hr timeframe.
Thought we'd try out room service. Person who delivered our meal was grumpy as well. Meal was pasta dishes. Gnocchi was tossed in oil and pan fried. Burnt on some sides with 100mls of oil left in the bowl! Penne chicken had hardly any chicken in it.
When we checked out, the lady on reception looked like she'd just got out of bed. Frazzled and no more but she was awesome. Obviously under the pump cos of lack of staff. Look after your staff cos without them you don't have customers. Will stay elsewhere next time but thanks for the experience.
Best thing was the company I kept and a midday checkout!

My wife and I stayed at the Bayview Eden for one night and were quite satisfied with our stay. The room was large and clean, if a little dated. Parking was a little tricky with the car park entrance being a short drive around the block to the rear of the hotel. In the evening we caught a tram into the CBD at a tram stop which was just a five minute walk from the hotel. Overall we were happy with the hotel and would return in the future.

I booked online through Trivago. Booked a superior queen room. Booking said the bed arrangement would be a Queen or a Queen with an extra single bed. Print out of booking said Superior room. On check in I was given my keys and went to the room. It was twin singles. On returning to reception I was informed that was the right room booked, although it did not say anything about this on my paperwork. I argued for 20 mins at reception. Was offered the twin beds to be zipped together for more money. My husband and I did not want single beds and I had paid more for this queen room. I had not made a mistake but obviously their booking system had. In the end I was given a double bed which was saggy, extremely uncomfortable and neither of us slept well. Attitude of reception staff was "couldn't care less". I will NEVER book here again. Also dirty towel left hanging on the back of our bathroom door from the previous occupant. Carpets are so old and stained on 5th floor in the corridors.

Room tip: Don't book online
