Good central location, safe, scure, clean. Airconditioning is inaddequate. Bathroom facilities o/k for thje small of frame but quite uncomfortable for larger travelers. ie toilet seeat too close to bath, seat for children not adults.
TV reception needs updating to recieve the full range of free to air digital channels. As usual in most hotels the radio reception is atrocious.

Tiny room, unclean, not living up to the Mecure Brand. The room was loud and the interior had a decor that brought lunatic asylum to mind.

Two redeeming features were that the staff were good and the location is good. But on the whole there's nothing really that much to see or do in Melbourne anyway and chances are you'll be getting a tram somewhere anyway. Therefore unless you've your heart set on seeing Melbourne's tiny Chinatown or less-than grand Bourke St Mall, and spending days there, you might as well stay somewhere better and just get the tram.

This hotel has one thing going for it - great location and can be booked at a good price. However all this really means is that you'll get a terrible nights sleep and wish you paid twice the price to stay somewhere half decent. The rooms were tiny and filled with dust, the walls paper thin so you could hear people coming and going in all night in the surrounding rooms, and the bathroom features a shower over what must be the worlds smallest bath (fine, don't need a bath, but don't bother making it harder to have a shower by putting an inadequate one in). It felt like I was living in a dorm or a backpackers - in fact I've stayed in better backpackers than this place, for far less. I thought at $160/night it would be half-decent, but it looks like all you are paying for is the location. Money not well spent.

We stayed for 7 nights at this hotel during the X’mas period because it was the only available one that we can book in the city centre. I would rate it at most a three star hotel. The front desk is actually shared with another hotel of slightly better grade and thus the lobby looks alright. We were given a room on the high floor but there is absolutely no view at all because the windows were facing a solid wall. The corridor is rather narrow and was usually full of trolleys with stuffs for making up rooms. The room looked a bit run down and the bathroom was smelly. The water pipes were probably too old and made a lot of high frequency noise when someone somewhere was taking a shower. This was horrible especially when it was late in the evening. There was a radio alarm clock in the room but somehow it never work for us correctly. The walls were probably rather thin because you can hear people walking and chatting along the corridor. There is a refrigerator in the room so it was convenient for us to store some food. Other than this the only good thing about this hotel is its location. I will probably try somewhere else next time if I got the choice.
