this hotel was very central in Melbourne with everything at your front door. staff were very friendly and helpful. great experience and would recommend staying at the welcome Mercure in Litlle bourke street.
Looked around for central budget hotels and found this. Our room was more than adequate, not overly big but fine for our needs, room facilities were great for a low price hotel. Didn't make breakfast so can't comment on food, the bar was spacious and busy and the bar menu looked good. No swimming pool, but being central would probably not have used it anyway! Staff were all helpful and friendly. Walk outside and you are right bang in the centre of Melbourne.
we booked in at the mecure welcome for a long weekend, we arrived and the lobby was lovely and the staff polite. we paid $280 for our first nights accomodation; we were then informed we had been given a free upgrade. the room was clean but it was crampt and worn with a tiny bath and a view of a brick wall, it wasnt even a double bed just 2 singles pushed together. we complained and were given another room, this one actually had a double bed but it again had a tiny bath, the room was very small and had a view of a brick wall. we will never stay with mecure again.
Location is good.Parking is not great unless you choose valet at an extra $35.00
Slow to check in as so many peoples and check out even slower. Took half hour for car to come from valet. Rooms are basic and bathrooms dated. As my girlfriend says "want to stay where the bathroom is better than at home" this one wasn't.Probably wouldn't stay there again.
