The location couldn't be better - right in the heart of Melbourne CBD with everything in easy walking distance.

We arrived about 10am and were able to get into our room straight away which was fantastic. The rooms are smaller than average, and the view from the windows is rooftops and run-down buildings - but that doesn't matter when you just need a place to sleep.

Our room was opposite the lift which concerned me at first, but I didn't hear a thing. It wouldn't have been because the hotel was quiet - this place is very popular and looked very busy.

The bathrooms are very small though - half-sized bath, and the door opens right into the room. So might not be an option if you're looking for a luxurious bath to sooth your weary legs, or a bit more privacy if sharing with someone you don't know well.

The room has a desk, TV with pay movies, fridge and open wardrobe with iron/ironing board. The minibar was limited to about 6 options, but there is a bottle shop one block away in Chinatown, and several convenience stores are nearby.

The hotel doesn't have any leisure facilities.

The buffet breakfast was good - not a huge selection, but at $14 it was great value and it filled you up for the day.

I'd definitely stay here again when next in Melbourne.
