Went again on July 26 to 27th. This trip was generously subsidised due to the lifts being out of order during my last visit, plus the vending machine broken.....we needed some food as it was evening meal time when the lifts were out so went to one of the floors vending machines but that was broken too. We rang to see if they offered room service but they didn't.
So my current visit was to see the Quilt Show. Guess what! Lifts were out again but not only that, when I got back to my room the bed hadn't been made and the empty shampoo bottle was still on the floor of the shower recess. Housekeeping HAD been in the room as the tea/coffee/sugar had been replenished but the dirty coffee cup and spoon were still on the sink. Gosh it's been a difficult few visits cos I have been here many times over the past few years and its all been very comfortable. Keeping my fingers crossed!

We usually try to choose hotels based initially on their location and you can't go wrong with this one. It is right in the centre of Melbourne and you can walk to pretty much anywhere in the city from here.

As others have mentioned only 1 lift is working and this did mean lengthy waits for the lift but it didn't really bother us.

We had a room with a queen and a single which was plenty big enough for 3 people. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Melbourne.

This hotel is in a great position with easy access to trams, shopping, and cafes. Our room on the 3rd floor was opposite the lift - only a problem when some guests came back at 4.30 am. There was only one lift operating which meant a frustrating wait on occasions. The room was very small, probably just under 3 metres wide and 4 metres long with a bathroom (unrenovated) in the corner. Our twin beds took up most of the space. The beds were very comfortable, the room was quiet (overlooking Little Bourke Street with building works going on opposite but fortunately not at the weekend). The accommodation was clean and perfectly adequate if you're going to be busy all day. I wouldn't want to spend more than a few days there: the room wasn't a place to relax in. We had no problems with service from the front desk and the concierge was very helpful. They even print out your boarding pass for you!

Found this hotel on Hotels.com and all looked lovely, we knew it was a middle/budget option but pictures and description seemed fair. On arrival to the hotel the lobby was bright and staff were friendly. We were located on the 10th floor which wasn't a problem but only one elevator was functioning. Walking out of the lift we were faced with a dark worn corridor which made is wonder what the room would be like. As we had feared the room was awful, it was like a store room, was filthy. Dust everywhere, dirty walls, stained carpets, pipes lining the calling and mould growing in the ceiling cracks. Bathroom was all that was modern and fresh. The fridge was noisy, not just a little but very disruptive. We could hear toilets flushing, water flowing above us like a river. I can accept a bad view and maybe basic appliances when staying in a mid range hotel, but when is this bad it should be called a hostel and I've stayed in hostels that have been of higher quality!!!!! Please do not stay here and feel as we have, pay extra and stay somewhere else!!!

Great location for restaurants, sightseeing and green space. Rooms are adequate. Pricing is good value for downtown Melbourne. Front desk service is non-existent. Missed passing on a very important message.
