We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, great location, easy to discover the city, Very standard Mercure hotel, room is spacious enough, clean and very comfortable bed, the breakfast is great as well. No complain :p

Booked this hotel as 50% off normal rate. Hotel undergoing renovations/repairs at the time (obviously the reason for special rate) Was made aware upon booking that they would be down an elevator due to building work. Cant lie it was very frustrating waiting on the lifts. To be fair there was alternate access using fire/stairwell. Our room was of good size, clean but quite dated. Bed comfy. No opening window - felt quiet claustrophobic. The air conditioning unit was out of the ark!! worked ok, but incredibly loud and seemed to run constantly - no way to turn off. Also plumbing/pipework not well insulated - could hear it running in the walls from other rooms. Staff friendly and helpful, restuarant pleasant - not a large selection, but tasty food. Enjoyed the Pokies- quite novel. The bar was great - beautiful Margarita :-).

The location of this hotel was great. One of the 2 lifts was under repair and it inconvienced our family greatly because we had to wait for a long time to get from the lobby to the 8th floor. I heard from another guest that the lift in this hotel breaks down a lot.

This is the best inner city location Rooms are very small but comfy. Bed really good and all amenities available. Little things like having no power point on the bench and having to boil the kettle in the bathroom were small inconveniences.

Two nights for business in Melbourne CBD. Could not get a more central location - walking distance to main shopping malls, china town and tram/train options. Room was clean and functional but quite small. Good for one person - maybe a little small for two. Price was reasonable - $125 inc buffet breakfast. Breakfast was ok, the usual hot buffet and contiental options but they ran out of crockery for the tea/coffee station and it was not replaced for 20 mins - a bit tardy. One lift was being upgraded so there was a bit of a wait - this is obviously a temporary inconvenience. I would stay again - it is good value.

We booked at Mercure welcome after looking at the reviews on Trip Advisor. As a family of four, we required a Superior King Room. When we got there, we were given room 1243 that was barely 10-12 sq metres. Much less than the 26sq m promised by the hotel. An extra bed was squeezed in between the big bed and the tv and there was no room to walk around. The bathroom had no locks and there was some weird noise every night. The only positive at all was the brilliant location. We were very very disappointed in the room and won't be returning here anytime soon.

I have found the staff and service at the Mercure Welcome always dependable and obliging.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend, as I did this last visit with 10 people, all totally satisified with
the hotel and would come again.
