Location is excellent and the reception staff are always very helpful. It is great being able to call up reception to get the $10 wifi in room when you need it. Room was showing signs of wear and could do with a freshen up, but it has everything I need for short business stays.

Staff did not know when their own cafe closed. There was no room service. Rooms pokey and bathroom very small. There was a bath tub but very tiny, only big enough for a small child. I would not stay there again unless there was no other alternative. The breakfast the next day was mediocre.

Location: Right next to Chinatown and convenient to food and accessibility. Can be quite confusing as it has three entry points. The Swanston Hotel, Grand Mercure is connected to it (they share the same reception, but you take different lifts to rooms)

Room: Upgraded from a Queen to King; they provided a disabled friendly room at the corner. Narrow pathway as you get to your rooms. My room was really dated. Generally clean. Bed and pillows comfortable. Fridge available. No safe. Iron and board available in the room. TV with standard channels.

Room good for staying if passing by or on business.

Shuttle service provided for free for those who intend to go to southern cross station to take skybus to Melbourne Airport. Please book with the reception early.

This is a good budget hotel right in the CBD but I found the rooms a bit too small - perfect for one person but a bit too squeezy for a couple - little room to move around - thinks of the small hotel rooms you get in Europe and this is up there with the best of them.

Having said all that the rooms are a bit date but tidy and clean and fairly quiet. If you're on a budget then this hotel is worth looking at as the location is great.
