Hubbie and I have just returned from 4 nights in Melbourne and stayed at the Crossley Hotel. I have been to Melbourne numerous times, as it never ceases to amaze me. I must say that this boutique little gem is brilliant. If you want a huge 5 star hotel with a fancy restaurant and concierge/valet service, then this is not for you. The Crossley offers boutique accommodation, amazing front desk staff, clean cozy rooms and just the right amount of 'personal' service that you don't often find in city accommodation. We arrived early on a flight expecting to just leave our bags, but were pleasantly surprised to find our room was ready. We had a room on the top floor, which was quiet and very clean. There were also free magazines in our room catering to all readers. The library just outside on the 6th floor was lovely too. Beds were comfy, shower always hot and we appreciated the free wi fi available. Breakfast was included in our package (continental), but you could pay $6 more for the chef to cook bacon/sausages/eggs etc whilst you waited. The staff at the Fish Dish restaurant were always friendly and always said good morning and asked us how we were enjoying Melbourne. The front desk staff were very knowledgable about where to eat and were always happy to recommend restaurants. I really enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to...Hubbie and I have just returned from 4 nights in Melbourne and stayed at the Crossley Hotel. I also like that the Manager (Melissa) sends you an email inviting you to comment on your stay at the Crossley.....and always responds to feedback, whether it be negative or positive. That shows that she cares about her customers and that is something you don't see too often in the service industry these days. A thumbs up to all staff at the Crossley.More
