Owner description: The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is Australia's largest, oldest and most popular sporting venue. The MCG has hosted plenty of international cricket, including the first-ever Test and the 1992 World Cup final, countless VFL/AFL Grand Finals, the 1956 Olympic Games and 2006 Commonwealth Games. It also hosted the final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Other sporting spectacles include FIFA World Cup soccer qualifiers, rugby league home and away matches and State of Origin and international rugby union clashes. Apart from its sporting events, the MCG has also witnessed many blockbuster music concerts, and even Pope John Paul II held a mass there when he visited Melbourne in 1986. The MCG has a total capacity of 100,024 people, comprising 95,024 seats and 5000 standing room spaces. The stadium also houses the National Sports Museum, which includes some of the most priceless pieces of memorabilia in Australian sporting history.

Did the guided tour of the iconic MCG while we were in Melbourne for the Lions test this summer. Brilliant place to visit, well worth doing the trip. The old guy who was our guide used to play there way back in the day, and he was excellent. Good stories about his experiences there, and really interesting stuff to see there.

We went on a tour of the G with Beryl who could deflect any googly you could throw at her. It was well worth the $60 family for 1.1/2 tour of all aspects of the MCG and then the sport museum. My two teenage boys loved it!

Loved the atmosphere at the MCG and even though our team Adelaide Crows got beaten we enjoyed the game.

We saw the Hawks v Cats
A must for anyone, if you've never been to a footy match, this is the place to do it. We were very lucky to see the top two teams, only got general admission , but because we got there early got great sets. I reckon if you like. Bit of footy it wouldn't matter who was playing the atmosphere was electric. An amazing experience, I believe a tour is. Must too. Loved it,

My father and I watched an AFL game here and it was an excellent experience. The atmosphere is first class and you probably will never find this anywhere else. The hallowed turf can hold about 95000 fans. Great for all ages.
