Very large market with food, ranging from basic to gourmet, housewares, clothes & tourist trinkets at great prices. Certainly worth a look if you like a bargain.

When we were in Melbourne, this was the place that we visited practically every other day!!! We love the fresh produce (organic also available), the fresh seafood, fresh deli, bakery, assorted meats, and not to mention cheap souvenirs and all kinds of retail stalls from shoes to clothing to knickknacks. We also love the people, the shouting from the vendors, the chocolate samples, and cafes. In the food court, we found lovely mini chocolate pancakes, Chinese noodle soups, Malaysian Laksa, Indian curries, and fish & chips, sandwiches.... If you enjoy eating and shopping, this is a place for you!

Huge range of clothing and leather goods, fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat & fish, crazy on the weekend and open every day except Monday. Well worth the visit.

Visited on a Sunday and got there by using the City Circle Tram...easy to find, great food and coffee in the food hall, and time to look around the many market stalls.

I expected more of this, after hearing from so many people how great it is. There are some nice boosts and the food court is great, but compared to European markets I thought this one was rather lame. It's good to spend the early morning there though and get some cheap and fresh fruit for the day.
