Its a great place to spend the mornings and afternoon. We went early which was great because there were not alot of people then so were able to walk around at our own leisure and by the time we were leaving then the long lines had already started. I always love the penguin enclosure they are so cute to see them waddling around. And if you want to swim with the sharks and you don't want to be disappointed like we were you need to book way ahead of time before you get there because it gets fully booked out quickly. Then they have the jellyfish area which is another of my favourite area and you get to see the boxfish Jellyfish. They take a photo of you and your family or you and friends when you first enter and you can pick them up when you leave so don't forget to do that.

The penguin enclosure is a bit odd! Some people thought the Emperors were stuffed - whereas they were just fast asleep! There's a lot to see in the Melbourne Aquarium, so leave a good couple of hours. The shark tank is cool - it has a part where fish swim above you: one of the big Rays blots out the light overhead, he's so huge. There are exhibits on Australian river eco-systems as well as sea life. A huge number of the ocean species in the seas off South Australia are found nowhere else. There are some cool animals on show, like live Nautilus (never seen those before). Worth a trip if you're in the city.

Great for adults and children. Particularly liked the penguins but all the displays were very good. There is the opportunity to touch a starfish and some good photo opportunities.
