“Great attraction for toddlers”
Reviewed November 13, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I enjoyed the aquarium visit because of the joy it brought our almost 2 year old. It's a perfect attraction for a toddler because they can run around without too much worry about getting lost or getting too far ahead. The venue itself is a little tired, but the tanks where clean and the fish appeared to live in harmony. There was lots to look at and we enjoyed the fact it was about 1.5 hours to look through, which is about all our little one can take. With the 20% discount because we travelled there on a vline train, we thought the price was reasonable. Lots of different fish, sharks and coral and a great close up look at the penguins.

“timed out and tired”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

i have visited the Melbourne Aquarium a number of times with the kids and for work functions. We visited the weekend past with the kids and were very much underwhlemed. The place looks tired. It needs a good clean. The glass was dirty. The place was full of game machines. It was the weekend and the cafe wasn't open. Ho Hum experience, which is a real disappointment.
Melbourne Aquarium, please pull your socks up.

“Best I have seen!”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

Really enjoyed our time here. It is definitely the best Aquarium we have seen.

We spent a good few hours wandering around and enjoyed the vast array of sea creatures the aquarium has to offer, we made sure to head down to see the penguins feeding.

Saw feeding time in the large tank too where the giant grouper was the surprise star of the show.

Lots to see here so take your time.

“Fascinating place but tired at the edges”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

A well laid out aquarium. Penguin tank very good for viewing the birds swimming under water. A combination of small and large tanks showing a wide variety of Australian fish and other water creatures. However, probably because it's such a popular place, some of the fixtures are little worn at the edges. The cafe does great chips but lousy sausage rolls!
