Check in was quick and efficient, the young lady advised me that I had been upgraded to a grandview Queen, I thanked her, she was very informative and advised me of reception hours as well as the inclusive breakfast. The room was the same as my last stay but with a view towards Docklands/ Ethihad Stadium, it was interesting being upgraded to this room as I wouldn't pay for it as the view is basically industrial overlooking the Southern Cross Station Railway Yards with Westgate Bridge and the Yarra in the distance. The big plus I thought was the inclusive breakfas, not a huge buffet, but a good selection of cereals, juice, tea, coffee, bread and Scrambled eggs and baked beans. I was only expecting a cold selection, the attendants in the breakfast room kept the place in top order, the eggs were also nice and creamy and not overcooked.
It was a short stay just overnight to catch up with friends pre Christmas, there was no microwave in this room, the space was there, it could have been awaiting replacement.

Found this hotel through the reviews and for what I paid ($115 per night inc b/fast) was just what I wanted. Our room was basic but just to put your head down of a night, ideal. The room was clean and spacious, bed was very good and the bathroom very modern and heaps of room. My only thing was I would have liked a sofa to sit on but was told this would cost another $45 for a room with one. Perhaps even 2 chairs in the room would satisfy me. But other than that it was great. Trams right out the front, train station down the road, I will stay there again. I AM NOT AN EMPLOYEE, VISITOR FROM THE HUNTER VALLEY, NSW.

This hotel is handily situated next to the railway station which the airport Skybus goes to and is only a 30 second walk from the tram stops.
The bedroom and bathroom were clean and generally comfortable. A criticism would be that there was no where to hang used towels in the bathroom. In addition, there weren’t any instructions on how to adjust the (noisy) air conditioning meaning we had to call down to reception in the middle of the night to help us sort it out.
Breakfast was included in the price of the stay. The standard of the food was fine, however if you wanted a cooked breakfast there was only baked beans and scrambled eggs to choose from (plus when these ran out, it took a long time for them to be replaced).
One other problem was the lifts - they took absolutely ages to come.
We stayed at this hotel over Christmas and disappointingly the staff didn’t seem to acknowledge the festive season – not even a ‘Merry Christmas’ when we went down to breakfast.
Overall, there were no major problems with the hotel.

A great location on Spencer Street with friendly staff. Only 'hiccup' was a wet patch on the carpet which we informed staff about and was offered a new room.
Only a couple of things could have made our stay better. A few free in house movies, and the bed had no top sheet, (only a quilt which kept on slipping off.) We stayed for 5 days and I don't think the sheet that was on the bed was changed for that time (even though housekeeping did make the bed each day)

We stayed two nights. The hotel is on a busy road so it is good to get a room either at the back or on a high floor, we were on the 13th floor. It was OK and we slept well. Only a shower no bath, the shower was in a large space and had excellent pressure. Elevator can be a bit slow when busy. Takes around 10-15 minutes to stroll into the centre or if you want there is a free circle tram a few minutes walk from the hotel, it is good to take to orientate yourself. All in all an ok hotel to stay but nothing remarkable.

We stayed at the Atlantis for a weekend treat to the city. The room was ok but I certainly would not rate this as a 4 star hotel. The reception staff were very uninspiring and seriously looked like they had lost the will to live !!!! When checking in and out it was like it was an inconvenience to them. We have stayed in numerous hotels in the city and this is the only hotel where we have not been asked if we enjoyed our stay or had any problems ( it just makes you feel like they are interested).
It is in a great location, the room was clean but basic and unfortunately does not live up to the standards of a "4 star hotel"

Stayed 5 nights on a business trip. Rooms were very clean, fresh and modern. Great location and nice view from room. Breakfast was decent although same menu every day. Internet connection in room was a bit too slow even after midnight. Otherwise a very decent hotel and will definitely stay there again. :)
