At $3.95 per hour you expect wifi to work. No chest of draws or waste paper basket (excluding bathroom) in our double room which was a bit weird. Bathroom was cleaned sporadically if at all. Reception staff were helpful and location handy but for a budget hotel would recommend.

Stayed twice recently, first time room air conditioning was set at 25 degrees. Could not adjust it so put up with room being too warm as time was after midnight and we were very tired after a late flight. Second time room temperature was set at 28 degrees! Again, we could not adjust it ourselves so contacted reception. After two unsuccessful attempts by staff to lower the temperature to an acceptable level we were offered another room.......it was hotter than the original one so back to the first room we went after being told "There's nothing we can do". A most uncomfortable night for sleeping due to this issue not being resolved and no windows that could be opened. Rooms are good and price is reasonable but we won't be staying again unless hotel does something to rectify the fact that the room temperatures are so hot!

Just stayed one night. Room looked over the Docklands area. Slightly at the "wrong end" of Spencer Street, but really only a short walk up from Southern Cross Station (and there are plenty of trams). The room was immaculate. I wondered if anyone had stayed in it before! And quite a nice size with a king bed, a desk and a lounge. Biggish TV showing all the free-to-air digital channels. Shower and toilet ensuite. On 7th floor and despite being above tram and traffic, very quiet. Good value at the rack seniors rate under $150. Possibly cheaper on Wotif etc. Not too many at this price in the CBD are any good, but this one is.

Can not really fault this hotel. Good value for money. Continental breakfast included, with the addition of scrambled eggs and baked beans! I requested a room as high as possible away from any traffic noise and not near a lift. We got a great end room on the 17th floor with views toward the Docklands. It was quiet and clean and I am sure the decor was based on the Hilton, which we had just left. No bath, but still, for the price, it was very nice. Good airconditioning and heating that you can self adjust.
The staff were pleasant and helpful. The pool was lovely. A good size and in good condition. It was over 30C for our two day stay, so we appreciated being able to cool off. The pool is heated, but not too much, still refreshing on a hot day.
The position of the hotel is very good with the free city loop stopping at the corner only about 2 min walk away and providing a short ride to the Docklands or stay on for the full loop around the city. It is a short walk to Spencer St Station where you can get a Myki for $6 then top it up to travel on all city trams and buses. There is a Coles supermarket just next to the station and plenty of small eateries plus DFO. The Football Stadium all only a short walk from the Hotel as well. A great find. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: We had a great corner room on the 17th floor. Nice and quiet and with view toward the Docklands.

I arrived on Wednesday night having mistakenly booked (through another website) for March not February, the manager was not on duty so I paid again for Wednesday Night hoping to clear it up in the morning. I was on the 16th floor, the room was nice, comfy bed although the only window is smoked out (it would be great if there was a window looking out at the view)

In the morning the manager tried everything to try and accommodate me for the rest of my stay but was fully booked. she authorised a full refund of the non refundable stay even though it was my error.

the staff at this hotel were extremely helpful and next time I am in Melbourne, this hotel will be on my shortlist.
