we booked at the last minute after looking for a hotel in or around the cbd in melbourne. We arrived late afternoon and checked in. Car parking was difficult as already full so needed to double park but as we were leaving early in the morning should not be an issue.

Have stayed here many times and our room was extremely comfortable with a lovely king bed and single bed for our teenage son. bathroom was nicely apppointed and the whole room appeared to have been refurbished since our last visit.

Quick change of clothes and out to our function which was about a ten minute walk away. back at 10.30pm, son was tired so he went to bed. Husband and I walked to Lygon street for a late evening drink and some nibbles.

Did not eat breakfast at the hotel - far too expensive @$25.00 per head for each of us. Walked down to Lygon St and had some great food before heading home. $28 for the three of us.

Room Tip: Don't eat breakfast at the hotel - too expensive and much better choices around the corner in Ly...

I have stayed here many times and am never left wanting. Service is friendly an polite, rooms are comfortable and clean and the restaurant for breakfast is excellent. I will continue to stay here due to its great location and better service. If I had to criticise one thing it would be the car-park but seeing as I generally arrive in a jumbo van I get to avoid it.

Returning to Melbourne for just 36 hours and found this hotel on Hotwire with a great price. It stated on Hotwire that it was in the CBD, which is not really the case. So I worried a little about getting around and if this would be the right choice for me. It became my favorite place to stay in Melbourne.
I arrived at 9am and was checked right in to a room on the second floor. Good size room, with comfortable bed, sofa, desk, small bathroom with shower. Good airconditioning and quiet.
The staff was great. Very friendly and accomodating. The front desk manager assisted me in going to use the nearby gym they have access to.
The hotel is in a great neighborhood filled with lots of shops and restaurants. They also have a pool and restaurant, neither of which I used.
It was a great value for the money and a hotel that would definitely book with directly upon my return.

Have stayed at the Best Western Plus Travel Inn a couple of times now. l love the pool in the centre of the hotel, so did the kids.
Was a little disappointed the last time though (which was Feb 12) that the reception staff were not as friendly on check in and check out as the last time we stayed and nowhere near as friendly as the lovely ladies l spoke to on the phone a couple of times when making the booking, the friendlieness of those girls could not have been beaten. On check in and check out there were no extra words spoken than need to be and not over welcoming.
The rooms are fine, yes the bathroom is a bit small and the lighting was dull and certianly not for reading, but nothing major to complain about.
l was a bit worried about noisey neighbours but read in the information book that if you have a problem with noise then call reception and let them know.
The price on the internet was $165, when l rang them l asked for the best price and she told me because we had stayed there before we could have it for $150 for the night and for $5 extra we both got cooked breakfast. The breakfast was nice, but wouldn't have liked to have had to pay the $25 each for it at the full price. So l think the price was average for what other places in Melbourne are charging and we had carparking included.
The location is fantastic l think. We walked around to Lygon St for dinner and enjoyed not only our meals the but also the experience. Had desert and afternoon tea at Brunette just around the corner. If you ever stay in this hotel you HAVE to go to brunette!!!! It is AMAZING.!!!!!
Would certianly stay here again but would hope to get it at a special price.

Third stay here and usually for convenience to walk to what I am going to Melbourne for. This trip the Travel Expo at Exhibition Building and around the corner for Italian restaurants. Rooms are not cheap but we had a King Size bed, nice and clean and pre-purchased breakfast online which makes that a better deal. The only downside would be the toilet in the ensuite.....a very cramped little corner and I would hate to be a large"r" person because it is quite cramped. I did however like that I could open a window for some fresh air and not confined to airconditioning. The room we had was on the pool level one. Quite noisy throughout the night but being Grand Prix weekend there were revellers in and out all the time. The Hotel cannot ensure visitors are thoughtful of others after hours. Would stay again.

We stayed on a Thursday night at a cost of Aus$250. The room was small with a queen bed and a single, desk and two chairs, Wardrobe and small fridge (which was barely cold inside). It had air conditioning and an LCD TV. The bathroom had a shower, basin and toilet. Tea/coffee facilities were available as well as wi-fi (at an additional cost) and undercover parking was provided. Breakfast was not included. The room had been updated and was clean and fresh. The bathroom lacked robe hooks and no shower cap or vanity pack was supplied. The clock radio/ phone didn't work as an alarm and the LCD digit display was defective and unreadable. It was all FAQ, basic, but with a comfortable bed and, at $250 per night, we felt we could have done better for our money elsewhere.

This is a strange hotel. It's strongest point is that it's the only decent place to stay in this busy part of North Melbourne and has a pleasant and convenient location. As for the rooms they are very varied. The inner rooms looking inwards over the pool are rather dark and have windows which offer no privacy. They seem rather dingy largely because they have dreadful eco lights which give out a grey light. However, get a room looking out to the street, especially on the higher floors, and they are much more attractive and bright. Nothing special but do the job nicely. The bathrooms are very badly designed though. Difficult to sit on the loo because of the sink which is tiny and difficult to use because of the way it's positioned on a cupboard. Breakfast is excellent in a pleasant dining room and service is good. Television reception not good. But I will continue staying there.
