The beauty of the course must be seen from the Grandstand if possible. Amazing watching the horses charge down the famous Flemington straight as well as around the bend heading for the finishing post. The spectacular atmosphere due to the friendly people ... didn't see any louts, nongs or morons. We had a couple of small bets with one winner from a recommendation of a nearby punter. Best time to go is in springtime, but it is busy. If you don't like huge crowds then opt for a less important meeting (not the VRC Carnival ... derby, oaks, cup) or go in Autumn.
