Reviewed April 8, 2013

I had the pleasure of dining at Ecco last Friday night my partner and I thought the experience was first class from the greeting on arrival to food and service through out the evening.

I went to Ecco for my friend's 60th Birthday celebration. The menu was set and the food was excellent. Dips and chips, Pizzas, Chicken, Veal schnitzel, salads and vegetables. Desserts were excellent.

“Loved It!”

Very friendly staff, gorgeous food! Had main of spaghetti and then another main of lamb shank while my partner had his desert, much to the amusement of the staff and other dinners... Great restaurant, highly recommended!

“The best steak I had for years, but too expensive”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

The service is very attentive and skilled, and the atmosphere is good. The wide screen TV showing a Sophia Loren movie was a bit bizarre (and frankly distracting) - perhaps the norm in Italy, but that's not an aspect of their modern culture that we Australians have embraced in restaurants with pretensions of being styled top notch. The beef rib eye on the bone was the best we'd had for years; marvellously tender, and cooked to perfection. But for $34 plus $7 for a plate of chips, it was an expensive $41 main course. Plus $42 for a forgettable Granite Hills red. Altogether a bit rich for my blood.

“Casual or a little bit fancy, Caters for all”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

Had a massive day at the races and came here for dinner at 9pm on a Saturday night. Very accommodating to my gluten free requirement. When others ate the fresh rosemary bread, I had a fresh caprese salad that wasn't on the menu but they were happy to make. Husband and friends shared a serving of gnocchi which was complimented by all. I had a nice glass of Rosé and a refreshing blood orange drink. Francesca the owner was amazing as was the Italian waiter who was very friendly and attentive. Only staff member who was out of place by his dismissive style was another gentlemen. That said, minus him, the service is great. Main of duck risotto was very well made and my extra request for a tonne of grated parmasen was no trouble, freshly grated at the table. Desserts were enjoyed by hubby and friends - a tiramisu, walnut tart and a affogato but my coffee didn't arrive. Had to ask non-favourite waiter for it. When you generally can't eat dessert, I like when waiters remember this and makes sure I have my tea or coffee with the others eating.

That all said, the quality and taste of the food and general service was great and I would recommend for either a casual night, or something special as being authentic Italian it would be great for any occasion.
