“Unusual but tasty menu”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

Really enjoyed the experience at Aylesbury. Unusually designed menu offering food combinations you would not normally try. Waitress was helpful on what to choose. It was all share plates and it all tasted very good. Recommend for a different dining experience. Must try.

“Another Great Melbourne Bar and Dining Location”
Reviewed October 5, 2012 via mobile

We started our evening with a couple of cocktails at the rooftop bar. Lovely vibe, nice mix of young through to older business types. Great cocktails with table service which is such a bonus. Gorgeous location with a mix of church spire through to illuminated office blocks surrounding the outdoor deck and indoor bar.

We then partook of the feasting menu, 11 dishes over 4 courses shared between the 2 of us. Being a sucker for oysters we added a dozen of them and finished the meal off with a dessert. Food was lovely but we ate way too much! Beware that the final 2 dishes are generous meat dishes accompanied by salad and potatoes - a generous meal in itself - so don't be mislead by the moderately sized early dishes.

Really delicious food. Quirky, enjoyable service and lovely ambiance.....a new regular for us as who can go past oysters and a glass of bubbles on a lovely rooftop with the option of dinner downstairs later....oh and I hear they are doing paella at the rooftop bar on Sunday arvos over summer. Bliss!!

“wonderful food, great location, good wine list”
Reviewed July 5, 2012

We had dinner for my Dad's birthday at the Aylesbury on a Thursday night. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and unusual and the wine list was impressive. We enjoyed sharing a range of entrees, two mains (including the delicious duck) and dessert and cheese between four of us. Every course was excellent. Recommend the chocolate foam with rhubarb for dessert - divine!

It's not an inexpensive restuarant but I don't mind paying for high quality food that is innovative and delicious.
