Either dress up or down you will feel at home either way. The staff are exceptional being friendly and knowledgeable. The menu is a little different but once explained easy enough to understand. The standard of the food is extremely high with excellent produce used. The wine list is extensive if not a little pricey. The Roast Scallops with "licorice" black pudding and grapefruit ketchup had a really bitter component in it which wasn't to our taste. On the positive side the 100 day pasture fed sirloin and the lamb roll with smashed potato were wonderful. We will be going back but for us the cost made it a special occasion restaurant only.

The outdoor and entry way bars are causal meeting places, but the dining room is fine dining at its most creative. The much touted decor is inspired by a rabbit's warren (What does a rabbit warren look like?) anyway the room is warm, casual barn like but the menu is definitely urban...all a touch confusing but ignore that and get on to the food. The spring roll is actually lamb and eggplant on a broad bean puree; the savory beet root salad is on a bed of Greek cheese garnished with an onion flower and nasturtium leaves that actually add flavors not just a froufou touch by an ambitious chef. The waitstaff is pleased to explain Ray Capaldi's creations but do not overwhelm the diner with long winded descriptions. The lemon tart is an enigma on a plate. You see that there is no crust but you taste crust. The server reported that this trick is done with tahini, it still remains a mystery to me. Order it and see/taste for yourself!

I have eaten here twice now and both times the food was amazing. The head waiter told me that everything is sourced locally except for the scallops which they import from Canada. The braised beef for main was just 'melt in your mouth' and the Magnum ice cream for dessert with wasabi was incredible. Both times the service has been a wee bit slow but always friendly and so worth the wait. I'll definitely go back again.

End of year function for our company - about 10 people in the end. Very relaxed, unusual food, attentive (but not too attentive!) service. Started with a drink at the bar, then went to our table. Food and atmosphere is quirky and a real experience, not bland at all.

Well worth it, will do it again, maybe with friends next time.
