Owner description: Please contact us via our website or freecall phone number, both are in the bus pic above. The Little Penguin Bus is a budget-priced express tour operator travelling direct to the Phillip Island Penguin Parade. Enjoy a two hour scenic drive to Phillip Island, with commentary, arriving an hour before the penguins are due to appear. Time for a visit to the cafe, souvenir shopping and learning all about the Little Penguins in the visitor centre. We offer a selection of penguin viewing options (more options on our website!) and the personal service and small-group atmosphere of much more expensive operators. All fares advertised include return transport and Penguin Parade entry.

Rob did a great job touring us around Philips Island and indicating best way to view Little Penguins returning to their underground dens for the evening. We appreciated all of Rob's help in making our experience with the Little Penguin Bus to be a great day!

Hi ctichu. Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'm delighted it was such an enjoyable trip and that you thought it was good value. A lot of people really like the small group tour too, the maximum we ever take is just 11! It really is The LITTLE Penguin Bus!

We booked this trip after reading its excellent reviews and agree with them completely. We were collected from a central hotel and driven to Phillip Island. On route, we stopped at a service station for a comfort break. We had eaten a late lunch before leaving Melbourne and recommend doing this, as the food at the service station and on Philip Island is mediocre. We were given lots of information on route and arrived in plenty of time. We had booked a ranger tour, which meant that, in addition to the ranger’s talk, we had the front seats in the viewing area. We were also given cushions to sit on and binoculars. These were very useful, as the tide was a long way out and it was hard to see the penguins’ arrival with the naked eye. After most of the penguins had come ashore, we were taken to some platforms from where we could look down on the penguins making their way back to their burrows. We were the only people from the little Penguin Bus booked on a ranger tour that day. I was impressed by the help the owner gave to his other guests to enable them to get the most out of their trip, telling them the best places to sit etc. The penguins are an amazing sight. There are a lot of them and on this tour we were not rushed, but given plenty of time to watch the penguins slowly make their way home. The Little Penguin Bus left at 10 o’clock; it was one of the last vehicles in the car park. We were then all driven back to our individual hotels. All in all, this was a very informative, well-organised and cost effective way of seeing Philip Island’s penguins.

Hi thompsonUK. Thanks so much for your review, our 200th! The feedback we get and the time people take to share their experiences is hugely appreciated. The success of this business is in no small part due to TripAdvisor and people like you connecting here with other travellers. It really gives us a chance to keep up with the bigger companies with much bigger marketing budgets, and higher prices! But it's also great to know we are providing a valued service and a good experience. Thanks again for taking the time to write. All the very best for your future travels!

This tour is perfect if you don't have time/don't want to spend an entire day at Phillip Island. This was good for us because we only had two days in Melbourne and wanted to make the most out of it.

The pick up spot is easy to find in the middle of the city and the Little Penguin Bus is not hard to find either with 3 small penguins sitting on the dash boards and the name of the company on the van. You can either chose to eat when you arrive at Phillip Island, bring along your own food or buy at the pit stop on the way,

During the drive down to Phillip Island our guide David was very informative and talked about Melbourne, Phillip Island and the surroundings which was very interesting!

I absolutely loved my experience with the Little Penguin Bus. It was exactly what I was looking for. Travelled with a small group, therefore we easily all got to know each other. I unfortunately cannot remember the name of my guide, oops! (I went on 25th March 2014) but he was fantastic - friendly and helpful throughout the trip. He drove us around the Island showing us the landscape and looking for penguins and wallabies before going to the penguin experience, which a bonus.

Seeing the penguins themselves is just remarkable. One of my favourite moments from my whole Australia trip!! I paid for the 'Penguin Plus' area, and would highly recommend this. We were so close to hundreds of penguins, it was incredibly special. Our guide had recommended where to stand for the best viewpoint, and how to split up your time to make the most of the experience, and he was spot on. I would love to see the penguins again, and I would definitely go with The Little Penguin Bus!
