My husband, 7 yo & I went there for dinner on 26-May to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We got there early & sat at the bar to have a pre-dinner drink. The barman was super friendly, chatting away. We were seating near the fire & the chalkboard menu. We started with the scampi, the Asian scallops & moreton bay bugs. The bugs in particular we're magnificent - a favourite with junior fusspot! I couldn't get off the huge starter menu, so had two more for my main course. Child had fish & chips - loved it. Hubby had grilled whiting (huge serve) - I had 6 oysters (kilpatrick of course!) & barramundi spring rolls - they were absolutely divine! Big chunks of fish, super fresh & tasty. We also had a side serve of chips & a salad (spinach, bacon & pine nuts) - everything was amazing! Rubiras has such a nice cosey atmosphere - carpet, warm lighting, gas/LP fire - loved it!
