We are regulars at Papa Ginos and wanted to try Cafe Cavallino on the recommendation of others. We were sorely disappointed! Pizzas were way too oily. Veal schnitzel ordered by my daughter was tough and gristly. We ordered a salad for the table (table of 7) and got a tiny bowl that was barely enough for one. We had to ask for water about 4 times after we ordered our food and drinks. Wait staff were not interested in seating us when we first arrived - it appeared that because we were a party of 7 this was too hard for them, even though the restaurant was 3/4 empty (obvioulsy for a reason). The wait staff were then very disinterested in assisting us during our entire stay. Do yourself a favour and give it a BIG miss. There are plenty of Italian Bistros/pizza places on Lygon St - this is just one to avoid. If the owner spent as much time and effort in getting the right staff and putting better food on the plates as he/she does on their Ferrari pictures and memorabilia, it might be a good place to eat!
