“great stop for a bargain.”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

The market is extremely large and includes undercover fruit and vegetable stalls, souvenir stalls (these are cheaper than the shops), clothes stalls, speciality food stalls, jewellery stalls, with an indoor market dedicated to meat and fish and an adjoining food court for dining. There are a lot of stalls to explore and a lot of them are exactly the same so really look around because there are bargains to be had. We went towards the end of the day where offers are available if you are cheeky enough to ask for them as they may not have made much money during the day so are willing to compromise to make something at least.

“Art or Food or Culture”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

This is one of the best places in Melbourne. Go at the crack of dawn as the fruit and vegetable sellers are preparing for a crazy morning. Watch them spray their wares with a mist of water, bringing out all the colours. Then go for a coffee and croissant, watch and listen to a beautiful cacophony,

“Nothing's changed!”

In Melbourne for annual trip to the Australian Open. Mandatory visit to QVM. Same old stalls, another handbag for my wife. Don't know why I bother!

“A great experience of food”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

Most enjoyable activity; although it is difficult to find a park and the inspectors are right onto any overstays. The vegetables are fresh & plentiful and the stallholders are hilarious at times with their offers. The meat sections is smelly but meat and fish good quality as are the Delis.
Don't forget to check out the clothing section & make sure you have a Spanish donut!!! Yum.
