just having the restuarant simply spanish at this market is an enormous plus! there's a great florist in the middle aisle, across from the vegetable shop that has a huge range of orchids.

The South Melbourne market has good parking for cars and no fees on market days. The eating places are really good. If you are staying in the South Melbourne area there is a wide range of eating places, coffee shops, restaurants and delicatessens. If you are travelling you need to taste a South Melbourne Market dim sim. They are always fresh and hot as there is always people buying them. The market is easy to get to by tram or train. If you want to buy meat and vegetables it a good place place to go on market days.

Just love this market. I always find what I am looking for without being overwhelmed. Easy to park and some great little eateries around.

Already tried all sorts of diffrent Mel Markets.
This one is cleaner then Preston, bigger then St kilda and not as touristy as Vic Market.
You can buy product from all over the world and it's clean and neat.

We were in the area for a lunch and then visited the markets afterwards. I'm not sure if it was the time of day but it wasn't crowded and it had a nice atmosphere. I love visiting the deli's and butchers in these type of places and they didn't dissapoint. Lots of unusual stuff which is great for this time of year. I'd go back again easily.
