This fabulous little oasis in Warburton Lane, Melbourne provides diners with an authentic taste of Spain. As soon as my wife and I walked through the doors we felt immediately welcome and an inviting atmosphere is clearly evident. We ate our way through several tapas dishes, probably too many, but thoroughly enjoyed each one. The white Spanish anchovies, garlic prawns and chargrilled lamb cutlets were particular favourites. Our waitress was very helpful and provided great advice about which dishes to order to suit our taste. We preferred the sangria to a bottle of wine to complement the food for this occasion and we were not disappointed, it was delicious. This was our first visit to Portello Rosso but it certainly will not be our last!

As Tapas Bars go, I guess this is a good one - judging by its popularity. The style of eating is not my preference; I would rather not eat from sharing plates - but the food itself is good. Marinated olives, crispy-skinned pork belly, veal/pork meatballs, prawns, green salad, breads - all very fresh with great flavours. I was with a group of business people and it's a good place to sit and chat without feeling rushed or hassled. Service is good and hospitality is marvellous.

A great Spanish restaurant tucked away in Warburton Lane in Melbourne. We chose a range of tapas to share including prawns, octopus, pork belly and croquettes. We went for the larger duck salad and patatas bravas for mains. Excellent presentation and flavours. A range of morsels to select, it was so hard to choose. We accompanied it with Sangria. The churros for dessert were fantastic and freshly prepared. Prompt and friendly service. I believe this is one of the top Spanish restaurants in Melbourne. Can't wait to return.
