Stayed here to extend holiday in Melbourne after the GP. Pretty luxurious and most requirements catered for. Only issue was no free wifi. When on holiday you would usually spend a minimal time on the internet so to have to pay for a full 24 hours seems excessive. Free wifi in reception would be a good idea if they can't give it in rooms.

Room Tip: Dont bother with a balcony as no chairs are provided and it probably will be too cold at night to si...

I stayed here in february,2013 was too expensive for what you get, I shared the room with a friend they do not have twin beds at all in the hotel, and the bathroom has a glass wall making you visible in the shower, airconditioner didnt work well.... the airconditioner's are on the floor instead of up high - making the rooms hot, I would not stay here again really disappointed

Room Tip: all rooms are small and stuffy

The apartment hotel is well located - 5 min walk to Victoria Market, 20 min to CBD. The room was small but had everything needed for a short stay (mine was three nights) and was clean and comfortable. From the concierge who greeted meet on a late night arrival to the reception staff, all were welcoming and friendly and gave excellent service. Recommend.

I stayed here for a business trip. Just one night.

The room was great and bed very comfy. Huge living area. I didn't pay for it so can't comment on value but I would stay here for anything less than 180 a night.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the City Tempo when attendig the Grand Prix. Reception staff were exceptional - went out of their way to ensure we had everything for a relaxing stress free weekend. Provided maps, directions to public transport and advise on popular restaurants/cafes. The room was well equipped and clean. Bed was great (for a hotel bed) and the shower was awesome - great water pressure so you didn't have to stand under a dribbling stream. Location was perfect - close to major shopping centres, sports stadiums and Albert Park. Queen Victoria markets were just two blocks away. Easy access to trams, buses and taxis. I will stay here again next time I'm in Melbourne.

Stayed at City Tempo early in March because it was booked by my employer. Location OK, room clean but very small and reception staff friendly and efficient. BUT, it was during an unseasonal heatwave in Melbourne and the air conditioner was mediocre and made sleep difficult because of its noise. The fact that sunshine beamed on room for most of the day did not help. My studio room had a narrow balcony, and faced A'Beckett Street which was noisy at night. The balconies seem to be used only by smokers and I was told that rooms at the rear of the building have less traffic noise. I would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms at rear of building are supposed to be quieter.

Dear LiniDee,

Thank-you for your recent review of CityTempo.
Melbourne did indeed recently have an unseasonal heat wave, this meant using the air-conditioning units at a low cooling temperature to ensure a desirable and temperate apartment. The apartment air-conditioning units are very efficient when placed on the correct settings. During the heat wave it was recommended to have the unit operating when out so you were able to return to a welcoming, cool environment after being out in the sun. At night when sleeping the unit can be set to ‘Sleep Mode’ via the remote, this will adjust the settings so less operating sound is emitted and aids in a good night’s sleep.
Nearly all city hotels are subject to metropolitan noise from the streets, it is for this reason all CityTempo apartments have double glazing. If any of our guests are very sensitive to noise, it is our pleasure to try our best to allocate an apartment at the rear of the building away from the street. It is best to inform of this request at the time of booking to give us ample time to oblige.
I am delighted to see you rated CityTempo highly for service, cleanliness and location. The team try their best to go ‘above and beyond’ for our guests and have this as a point of difference from our competitors. We also understand providing a high level of cleanliness with our apartments is a must and one of the most important aspects for travelers.
Thanks again for your review of CityTempo, we wish you well in future travels and it would be great to welcome you back again.

Staff where friendly and helpful. Apartment good size and well equipped. Was clean, and kept clean, by the very pleasant cleaners, nothing was too much trouble. Great location too, easy access to he trams which gave easy access to everywhere in the city. no question that I would look at this place first if I return to Melbourne.
