My partner and I had a great stay at the City Tempo. We were there over New Years for about a week. The rooms are small but newly renovated and ours was very clean. We especially enjoyed the included stereo with a built-in iPod hookup.

The hotel staff far exceeded our expectations. Every time we had a question (and we had several) they were quick to check online, make phone calls, or do whatever they could to help point us in the right direction. Madi at the front desk was especially helpful with this.

The location is a bit north of the main attractions, but we had no problem walking a few blocks. If you're not a walker a short cab ride will get you to most places you want to go.

The unti also came with basic kitchen facilities in case you want to make a meal, etc. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Melbourne.

We thoroughly enjoyed our four nights at the City Tempo. The facilities are very clean and new. We enjoyed using the DVD/ Stereo and Flat sreen TV. The frosted almost see through glass panels in the bathroom did not bother us but I can appreciate it could make some visitors uncomfortable. The hotel is in a very central location and we were happy to be such a short distance from free tourist transport. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay very enjoyable.

We were very impressed with our 1st stay at City Tempo. The location was outstanding, close to Vic Market, City Circle tram, good restaurants but away from the bustle of the centre of the CBD. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher and washer/dryer) was a complete surprise and made our stay even more affordable. Next time we won't bother with balcony though, only extra $5 but we didn't use it. Good bed, well designed storage made use of a moderate space.

4 nights stay in studio room and really enjoyed it.

The room is quite small but very functional. Has all the required conveniences in the room. We didn't have a washer/dryer, but i believe some rooms do.

The only issue was the air con is super loud, though we're pretty sound sleepers so it wasn't too bad.

Short walk to lots of shops and restaurants (hardware lane).

Would definitely stay again.
