We often visit the Curve Bar when we go to the theatre, and being regular theatre goers it's great to know we can rely on it. Curve Bar always has great food - don't expect to go there for a long romantic dinner, it's far more of a pre and post theatre bar with great sharing plates as well as individual choices. The standard of food is always very good, the service can be a little slow but the staff do realise that you are probably going to the theatre so will try their best. There are a few real tables when you walk in, but in general this is a place with more of a bar atmosphere so dining is often around the more casual sitting area. It has low lighting like a bar and this creates a good ambience as well.
It can get very busy just before and after the shows, so if you are in a hurry then get there early. It would be good if they could extend their champagne choices, we associate good champagne with the theatre - a good opera deserves an authentic champagne. You can have Pol Roger but that's really the only champagne choice.
I will always go back to Curve bar, I have never been disappointed by the food. It's a great meeting spot but as I said, get there early before the show or very soon after the show to ensure you get a seat.
