We booked the Lanes and Alleyway Tour on the internet. We had 8 people on the tour and our guide Sarah was excellent. We really liked this tour because it showed us parts of Melbourne we would never have visited. The street art was particularly impressive. This tour gave us a chance to experience some of the local sights that give Melbourne such a great reputation. We retraced part of the tour the next day and visited many of the shops we passed on the tour. You will enjoy this tour.

“What a find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2013

Wow! What a wonderful day my best friend and I have had today strolling through the laneways of Melbourne! I am a Melbournian and thought I knew my city pretty well, but gee I found so many wonderful, quality and unique shops, eateries, historic buildings and amazing initiatives and projects that made me fall in love with my home town all over again! Danae was the perfect hostess. She is so friendly, helpful and welcoming, and because she lives in the city she has personally eaten at, bought from or enjoyed so many of the "hidden treasures" she showed us today. I would recommend this tour to visitors and locals alike. It was raining today but that was not a problem as Danae had brollies for everyone and most of the tour is undercover so no issue anyway. Congratulations Hidden Secrets Tours, we will certainly be back to enjoy another of your tours soon...the Vintage Shopping Tour sounds great!

“Great way to get a taste of Melbourne's local flavor!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2013

I booked the Laneways & Arcades tour at the recommendation of a relative who lives in Melbourne and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide, Luisa, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the city and showed us a number of laneways, alleys, and shopping arcades that I doubt I would have found on my own. As a chocolate lover, I especially appreciated the stop at Koko Blak -- the chili hot chocolate was fantastic! -- and I was able to go back later and take advantage of the discounts offered by some of the small local businesses we visited on the tour. As I was staying at the Westin Hotel, it was especially convenient that the tour started just a block away at Federation Square and ended literally in front of the hotel. If you like architecture, street art, quirky independent shops, and chocolate, you'll love this tour!

Dear Traveling_Jones9
Thank you for the lovely review, and your wonderful pictures..
There is no question that the Westin is probably the closest to our start point of the tour, and what a lovely way to be in the middle of what we share.. we realise you may not be back soon, but are sure you will be seeing out another chilli hot chocolate soon.
Thank you for taking the time to write
Kind regards

“Value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013

4 of us booked the tour on 13 May via internet. The guide is Luisa who is extremely friendly and helpful. After we gathered at the Federation Square, she brought us to a tonne of hidden small shops which were most interesting to see. It's really worthwhile to spent a few hours to walk around and get a taste of real Melbourne beside the skyscrapers and main roads.

“Sommelier tour is truly excellent!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2013

I visit Melbourne regularly and one of the true highlights of coming here is the dining with an abundance of restaurants and cafes. With so many to choose from it always helps to have an insider's guide and this is where Hidden Secrets excels. I didn't realise the extent of the dining and wine scene until doing this tour. It's like being admitted to a secret society of foodies. It was a great adventure being taken down dark alleys and into secret nooks and crannies by our guide Fiona to discover hidden restaurants. With food this good you soon realise why the restaurants and winebars don't need to advertise (or, in some cases, even have a sign out the front!). But it is not just the food and wine which makes this tour, it takes you on a magical journey through inner Melbourne with each venue vastly different in style and ambience. If you love food, great wine and good company this tour is a must!
