I went to try the pork belly sandwich - takeaway. The queue to order was out the door and it took 20 minutes to order. 10 minutes in two guys skipped the queue to eat in. Unfortunately for me - despite them arriving 10 mins after me they were seated and eating by the time I ordered.
While I was in the queue the Pork Belly sandwich came off the menu as they had sold out (about 12.50pm). I ended up going a duck confit baguette. Delicious, but for $16 it represented no value as it was small and not filling, although this was compensated for to some degree by the strong flavours.
$16 for a baguette and not fully
It took 35-40 minutes from the time I arrived to the time I left.
To be fair - the long queues may have been due in part to the (highly positive) review in The Age that
The staff were hell-busy but under pressure they were brilliant. Calm, patient and genuinely friendly despite the chaos. I recommend trying their sandwiches BUT NOT at weekday lunch time ! The workers are hungry and flock here like seagulls to a discarded fish'n'chip. Its not the type of place you eat at everyday due to the cost.
