We visited the Mornington Peninsula in March, the day after our arrival from the UK. Stephen was our driver and guide, and really helped us get our bearings in Melbourne and the surrounding area.
Thoroughly enjoyed all of the wineries, especially the small Tanglewood Estate where we walked through the vines, and had a full tour with the owner. Lunch was at Salix Restaurant at Willow Creek winery - exceptional. Loved the banter with Ed at Merrick's General Store. This was a resheduled stop, as Balnarring vineyard had just experienced power failure - so was able to try their wines and more at the store. Mornington Peninsula Chocolates were great - probably the best chocolates I've ever tasted.
No pressure to buy any wines anywhere. Our only regret was that we could only buy these in small quantities, due to onward travel arrangements. We really enjoyed the pace of this tour. No rush to get on and off the minibus to get to the next destination, like you would have with coach tours. If / when in Melbourne again in the future, Vinetrekker will be top of my list for another exceptional day out. Thank you for the day that we had.
