I drove past this restaurant many times and it looked interesting. I googled it and found it to have a connection in Beijing, which made it more interesting! We had a group lunch here on the day of the Chinese New year celebrations in Melbourne. I found the food to be outstanding, between the 19 of us we probably sampled quite a good range of dishes. The Peking Duck was superb (Better than the Peking Duck we had in Beijing :) ) The staff were freindly and attentive with a good knowledge of the menu, a good range of drinks of all types are available. Will return as often as possible

We booked here after hearing good things about it and, wow! It was everything we hoped and more! Being Chinese New Year, we'd expected it to be packed but, seeing that is away from Chinatown, it was actually pretty empty.

The service from the staff was top notch. They were very friendly and welcoming and gave special little gifts to the kids that were with us.

The food was FANTASTIC! Everything tasted wonderful and there were big servings that left us all well fed and happy.

I'm not normally a duck person. Even in Beijing, I wasn't too keen on it, but, the duck here was beautiful. Not fatty or greasy, but cooked prefectly.

The restaurant actually closes for lunch at 3pm on a Sunday, but they kept open for an hour and a half extra for us and weren't hinting that they wanted us to leave!

I was expecting it to be scarily expensive, but it worked out to about $50 per person and none of us left hungry!

All in all, a great place that we will DEFINITELY be revisiting!

What can I say, we have eaten here probably 30 times over the past 4 years and have always loved it but something has gone amiss. On our last visit the staff were wonderful as usual but we have noticed since the new owners have taken over that the food quality has dropped. We have always loved the duck but now it seems very greasy and bland. No hot towels or clear duck soup to help with digestion at the end of the meal. The wagyu was very fatty and not as flavoursome as usual, another big let down for us was the quality of the jasmine tea, I remember in the past it was of a high quality and complimented the meal now it is bitter and the leaves are of a very poor quality . Perhaps it is time for us to find a new duck restaurant , oh what a shame.

Serendipitous discovery wandering along Queen Street. The ambiance and environment was very nice, the staff were attentive. Having been to Beijing a number of times and had duck in a number of restaurants, when someone says they do 'great' Peking Duck it catches my eye.
Everything we had was excellent, the pecking duck was very very good, the beef, pork and chicken dishes were excellent an interesting surprise was the fried rice, it was lovely, order more not less, you will eat it.
Had a good bottle of NZ sav blanc too

The price was fairly high $256 for the four of us but the quality made it worth it.

We have so many restaurants in Melbourne that it has to be very good to get me back again. Will go out on a limb here :-)..... We will return!
