Great Indian restaurant with attentive staff and a very comfortable setting. Our meals came out quickly so we were able to enjoy the great atmosphere more. I have tried almost all dishes on the menu, all are worth it.

From my experience in Melbourne it has been hard to find a good curry. Went here on the advice of colleagues at work and were very pleased we did. Good selection for both meat eaters and vegeterians. The chicken biryani on special was fantastic. The staff were polite and helpful and the icing on the cake was the bill at the end...excellent value for such good quality and portion size, a combination that rarely goes together in a city centre.

We were staying at the Windsor and a bit too tired to go further afield. There is no table service, table cloth etc, and while the food is price to match, the curries were less than memorable, and average is probably a little generous for such a boring meal.

One in our party had a nut intolerance. Staff were unable to confirm which dishes have nuts. After several attempts to flag down a server we asked one if he could confirm with the kitchen which mains contained nuts or used peanut oil and he responded 'rice?' and got frustrated with us when we tried wording it different ways to get a clear answer (not that the original question should have been that problematic in the first place) and wandered off. Not outright rude but it was quite apparent he didn't have strong enough English to answer our question, which is not bad service in itself until it ended with him also being totally uninterested in find us someone who could... We left after a drink and small entree we'd already ordered prior to the failed conversation above. The entrees we did eat were OK.
