This hotel is great value for money. Located in central Bourke St there is a tram stop right out front and plenty of taxis day and night. You are walking distance from the central malls and shopping areas without being right in the craziness of it all. There are also plenty of great dining options around so really everything is covered.

The rooms themselves are modern and clean, functional and quite spacious. For the discount rates that can be found online there really is no reason to hesitate to book here - you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: There seems to be two room types: regular room and room with a divider like a studio apartment. Both...

Fantastic location in the heart of CBD. Conveniently located just outside the tram station...David Jones, Mayers and other shopping grounds are nearby. Certainly, Citadine doesnt look impressive from the outside but as one enter the lobby, you'll be certainly amazed with the apartment-hotel like. Also, very clean room and house keeping is excellent. For the price you pay, it was definitely worth the stay. Must say that the front desk was very fast to check us in and helpful in our request to upgrade to another room. Just one thing, Citadines comes with no free parking. One need to pay AUD 30 per day even as a hotel guest. Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!

My husband and I recently stayed in a one bedroom deluxe room. It was our first trip to Melbourne and was a bit hesitant as to what we might end up with. First appearances as we were dropped off were heartening. As we walked through to the reception area we were very happy to see how clean and modern everything looked. We were warmly greeted and quickly and efficiently the paperwork was completed and we headed off to our room. It had everything that we needed, a decent sized kitchen and living/dining room. A good sized bedroom with plenty of storage. The bathroom was clean, modern and a good size.

The following morning reception noted our request for an extra pillow and explained how to work the tv! We didn't read instructions properly but never felt condescended when told what to do. Every day we asked how to get to such and such a place, what tram to catch or train. Every time reception were kind, courteous and helpful.

The Citadines is very well placed to get to everywhere. Only five minutes walk to Myers and David Jones. The wonderful little lanes, ideal for breakfast or lunch are not much further. Chinatown is local as well. We also had a short walk to the theatre, the Old Melbourne Gaol and Victoria markets. Trams ran regularly outside the Citadines, if you preferred not to walk.

We only made one meal in our room, sausage sandwich breakfast - bought the most delicious sausages and fresh crusty ciabatta bread from Victoria Markets. But having the convenience of a self contained apartment made for a more relaxing time when coming back from a hard days shopping. And the room was cleaned, bed changed and towels replaced daily.

Will definitely visit again!

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment on the basis it was central Melbourne and would be easy to access all the places we wanted to visit during our 4 night stay. I have to say it was the best choice we could have made. Despite some previous reviews indicating reception staff were not the best we found they were very polite and incredibly helpful. Don't expect them to be mind readers and know just what you want, ask and I am sure you will receive all the information and more you require. They provided tourist information, called a number from their phone that I was unable to contact on my mobile (without charge). Two guys in particular were so good but I did not make a note of their names which I regret. The tram stop is just outside and from this you can get just about everywhere you could wish. Loads of shops as this is city centre. We were on 24th floor and views were breathtaking but bear in mind that being a city there will be people enjoying themselves into the early hours and even though we were up on top floor music and voices will travel, but if you wanted silence you shouldn't book a city centre break! Accommodation was excellent had everything and more required. Take the time to find the small swimming pool, not many did when we stayed so we had the pool to ourselves. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Choose a corner suite on highest floor.

It was my pleasure vacation, I will go travel few times a year. I decided to choose this hotel because it is reputable and the location is excellent. I stayed in the studio room, it was a modern room, clean and big. The room fully equipped just like a home. Along the street, you may find Daavid Jones, Myer and other shops. In addition, it is only 3-5 min walk to China town. I would say that it is a great place to stay, I definitely will return to this hotel again.

I stayed here for three nights while attending a conference at the Melbourne Convention Centre. Having stayed at Citadines in Paris and London I was expecting great things and was not disappointed. It is spotless, has modern and pleasant decor, is roomy and has everything you need. It was very quiet and the staff were welcoming and friendly. There is a tram stop right outside the door and the number 96 tram route goes to the convention center. I have been looking for a regular place to stay in Melbourne for some time and, at last, have found it. Great coffee shop next door where I had coffee and raisin toast every day for breakfast. Shopping and restaurants on the doorstep. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: 12 th floor room was very quiet

We got an upgraded last minute room at Citadines as our plans changed last minute. The room was large, clean and well equipped. The bed was big and comfy. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We found Melbourne to be a very nice city and would return again to do all the bits we missed this time !

Room Tip: go for the upgrade if offered for more space.
