Description: Il Tempo means Its The Right Time.... To visit us and experience our casual Italian cafe with the friendliest, most courteous staff in Melbourne. Established in 2000 and conveniently located in Degraves Street, just across from Flinders Street Station. Whether you choose to dine outside (Alfresco) or inside the European style bistro, Il Tempo cannot be beaten for authentic Italian cuisine, reasonable prices and a fun ambience. Yes, the cozy, dimly lit atmosphere makes it difficult to want to leave and head home after dinner, but luckily, we are opened late.. So we suggest you sit back and relax and slowly sip that wonderful Chianti from our extensive wine list. Or maybe we will tempt you with one of our famous desserts...

We had a lovely experience at il tempo. The restaurant was accessible and very inviting! Service was fabulous and staff extremely accommodating from the moment we entered! Food was great and so was the coffee! Atmosphere very cozy and sophisticated. Awesome experience look forward to returning next time I am in Melbs. Thanks il Tempo

After wandering around the laneways in the area on a Sunday night, we decided to return to Il Tempo, after previously walking past. Admittedly, there weren't many eateries open, being a Sunday night, but this did seem to be popular with few empty tables, so that's always a good sign. Restaurant had a lovely, cosy atmosphere & was busy (unlike the one across the lane), so figured it seemed a good choice.

Service was great right from the start. Meals were great - I had a beautiful duck breast on carrot mash with an agresto sauce, the others had lasagne & reported it was very tasty. Again, service from the Italian staff was friendly & timely. We also gave in to dessert, trying the creme brulee, tiramisu & strudel - all very delish!! It was a really nice night.

Would definitely stop in here again if back in Melbourne. Love Degraves St & Il Tempo.

Busy when we arrived on a Sunday night but didn't have to wait long for a table to free up. Service was quick and staff efficient. Entrees arrived fast and tasty. Steak main was cooked perfectly but the other diners main (spaghetti carbonara) was quite dry and a little disappointing. Would probably eat there again if the opportunity arose.
