Description: Il Tempo means Its The Right Time.... To visit us and experience our casual Italian cafe with the friendliest, most courteous staff in Melbourne. Established in 2000 and conveniently located in Degraves Street, just across from Flinders Street Station. Whether you choose to dine outside (Alfresco) or inside the European style bistro, Il Tempo cannot be beaten for authentic Italian cuisine, reasonable prices and a fun ambience. Yes, the cozy, dimly lit atmosphere makes it difficult to want to leave and head home after dinner, but luckily, we are opened late.. So we suggest you sit back and relax and slowly sip that wonderful Chianti from our extensive wine list. Or maybe we will tempt you with one of our famous desserts...

This restaurant is in a busy little lane and was just lovely & what I love about Melbourne. The service was fantastic from the time we were seated outside till we left, our waitress also suggested what was really great on the menu. We had Chicken penne pasta with pumpkin sauce & Chilli Garlic prawns and both were delicious. The pasta was part of the pasta/vino special for $20 and it was great. Loved the atmosphere here & will be back next time we visit.

The menu is not really very exciting, but the food is of a good standard and always reliable. The service here is also very good. The atmosphere in the restaurant makes me feel like I'm somewhere in Italy which is why I keep going back.

Stopped here purely by chance and had the wine and pasta special (plate of pasta with a glass of red or white for $20).
Food was really good, very quick and a reasonable serve. The accompanying wine was also fine.
We had the calamari risotto and the rigatoni with salami with a white and red wine. The Rigatoni sauce was terrific.
Service was nice, quick and helpful

Grab a seat outside to enjoy the people watching!!

After a huge day at Albert Park and a few laps of the city, having alighted the tram at the wrong end of town, we almost fell into the chairs outside this restaurant.

Dog tired and ravenously hungry, we would have eaten our own limbs rather than succumbed to the myriad of fast food joints we passed. On our return to the Citigate Hotel, we decided to venture out one more time in our quest for a decent feed.

Alas! A charming little laneway called Degraves St and an empty table beckoned.

A serve of chilli butter bread went down a treat, followed by braised rump & mash and my companion devoured a steak.

Service was outstanding as was the ambience.

One of the highlights of our Grand Prix weekend.

Ate here with no idea what it was like. We were very pleasantly surprised. We had the salmon and zucchini bruschetta which was lovely. My companion had the duck risotto which was delicious - a real winner. I had the seafood pasta which also was lovely but the duck risotto was the standout dish. We finished off with tiramisu - divine!!! The wait staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a lovely find and would definitely return. Good value for money, delicious food, friendly staff - a winner on all accounts. We sat outside and watched the parade of people - very entertaining!!
