Description: Il Tempo means Its The Right Time.... To visit us and experience our casual Italian cafe with the friendliest, most courteous staff in Melbourne. Established in 2000 and conveniently located in Degraves Street, just across from Flinders Street Station. Whether you choose to dine outside (Alfresco) or inside the European style bistro, Il Tempo cannot be beaten for authentic Italian cuisine, reasonable prices and a fun ambience. Yes, the cozy, dimly lit atmosphere makes it difficult to want to leave and head home after dinner, but luckily, we are opened late.. So we suggest you sit back and relax and slowly sip that wonderful Chianti from our extensive wine list. Or maybe we will tempt you with one of our famous desserts...

“Lunch on DeGraves St -great!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

My husband found this trendy pocket of eateries down DeGraves st and we were fortunate to just get a table for four at Il Tempo during the very busy lunch rush down Degraves st. Lucky for us. Inside looked a little dingy.
Italian dishes on the menu. Kids loved the spaghetti meatballs. The polenta with mushroom and blue cheese sauce was divine. my salmon focaccia was nice, a little scabby on the avocado (sorry to say) Two glasses of bubbly. Yummo! well priced at $9 each. Strong coffee, just how we like it. Very friendly waitresses, bothfrom out of town.
Popped into Clementines for artisan shopping after lunch (directly opp). Go!

“Beautiful pasta”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012

We have been here twice for lunch on weekend trips to Melbourne. We had tasty bruschetta, amazing pasta, and a beautiful tuna salad. The restaurant inside has a cosy friendly atmosphere, and dining outside is in a great little alleyway. This is as good as eating in Italy, but with the friendliness of Melbourne.

“A fantastic find.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

A warm welcome awaits everyone. The service could not be faulted, nor could the food. Everything was fantastic.
We stumbled across this lovely little restaurant by accident as we had been told to head to the other side of town to eat. On finding this little gem, we decided to stay and eat and we were not disappointed. We had the Salmon with a side of vegetables. Both were delicious and I could have just had a bowl of veg as they were so tasty.

“Nice friendly place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2012

Nice warm Italian restaurant in CBD, Melbourne, close to Flinders Street Station . The staff are friendly and in 3 different nationality. The deco is retro without being old and dusty. Menu is sufficient, and the helping size is good. The pasta sauce is nice. The pasta is on the chewy side, but thats the texture I like my pasta. It turns out the chef is Chinese. But the cooking is nice despite the chef's nationality. We had lunch there and the place was nearly full on a Wednesday. On the whole its good value for the money. A restaurant we no doubt will return to when visiting Melbourne.
