Stayed with family for two nights. Rooms are excellent. Two large Queen beds in our room were perfect for family of four. A bit of a walk to the CBD, but what the heck walking is good for you. A large number of good restaurants on your doorstep.

Stayed: December 2013, traveled with family

Wanted one night away by ourselves between Christmas/New Year festivities. As it turned out, Crown Metropol was just the ticket. Service throughout the enitre hotel was spot-on and could not be faulted. Even more impressive as the hotel appeared to be extremely busy.
Upgraded to corner room and Level 28 service. This also included valet parking, but not just any valet parking - not only was our luggage stored for the entire day but so was our car.
Modern and tasteful decor, which is not always easy to get right - Crown Metropol have been able to pull it off.
We will definitely return.

Room Tip: If offered the upgrade, definitely take it, although the upgrade will come at a cost - it is not free

We spent one night at the MetroPol and had a very enjoyable stay. Our room was well designed and we had plenty of space for a one night stay. Although we didn’t use it the view from the pool was amazing. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, especially when it came to early check in and help in returning our rental car. We would definitely stay again if we were in Melbourne.

My wife and I have visited the Crown Metropole a few times now and every time is fantastic. (Although we did forget about school holidays). It was our first time experiencing Level 28 and we must say, it was absolutely fantastic. The relaxing atmosphere, reading the paper is a beautiful area, the staff were great and breakfast was fantastic, especially the service. Nothing was too much trouble.
We enjoy our time whenever we stay here and this is our favourite hotel. We will always stay here when we come into town. We will remember though, not to come during school holidays, we love the pool but just a little over crowded for us. We did manage to get to the pool around 7pm which was a little less crowded.
Would recommend to anyone. Just a great place, great location, great service.

My wife, two kids and I stayed at Crown Metropol in NYE 2013 for one night. Check-in line was massive - totally expected considering the day of arrival. We paid for access to Club 28 - the Metropol's executive lounge. Views were great although predominantly facing South-East so limited CBD views. Room was stunning, with open plan bathroom that magnifies the size of the room. Beds were like clouds to sleep on (I presume, as have never slept on a cloud but would imagine a cloud to be like the Metropol bed only bigger and way higher above the ground). Our kids loved the pool area overlooking the Yarra on level 27 - and check out the change rooms on the same floor...another private spa and large steam room! Again, pool was packed but booking in on New Year's Eve prevents any complaint from being justified. Pre-dinner drinks in Club 28 were refreshing, my kids loved the hot chocolates! Canapés were Turkish bread (and extra Turkish bread on request) and trio of dips...other executive lounges have a range in the buffet self-access style but not here. There was a function for NYE in Club 28 that started arriving from 6.30pm, so we got a sense that we had to move on...again the day was at fault, not the hotel, in my opinion. Super-fast 30 second check-out, and fast valet the next morning confirmed an enjoyable experience for our family at Crown Metropol. We will be back!!
