We had been to the Maze Grill and enjoyed the food when it first opened. It was because of this we choose to stay at the Crown Metropol who pride themselves on the room service being as good as that of their restaurant. The food was disgusting, we are not fussy eaters I am not the world's most amazing cook and we couldn't eat the food. When it arrived to the room it was luke warm, the vegetables were fatty and tasted like the steak my husband ordered and my fish also tasted the the steak. The room itself was OK, clean we wouldn't stay here again and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Overpriced, overrated. Good location but stay at crown towers.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 days recently. We had a Studio Room on the 19 floor, which was on the corner, so lucky us, had 2 complete floor to ceiling glass walls, overlooking the city and bay! The huge king size bed was so comfy, and the gave us latex pillows when we asked. It was fresh, modern and luxurious!!! Now on to the pool.....wow! The whole 27 floor was fantastic! Huge pool with infinity edges, looking down to the Yarra, The plunge pool, was 38 degrees! So nice!!! Even the Change Rooms had another spa pool with reclining lounges! and a steam room too! We spent hours on the 27th floor! The robes and thongs provided were great. I would stay here again in a flash!!! Easy to walk to the casino or restaurants, a great place to have a real holiday, not just a room overnight!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room.

Was allocated this hotel when purchased a "Mystery Deluxe hotel" online. There was about 5 staff working the driveway so the bags were attended too and car parked ($35 p.n) quickly. The check in lady was exceptional and we were up to our room in no time. We had requested a high floor and was given the 25th floor with great rooms. They were very large with King Bed, heating/cooling, fully decked out mini bar, a console of all the latest magazines, flat screen TV, seperate chais lounge under the window, writing desk etc. The bathroom was big and nice, no bath. It did only have a dividing privacy screen which you could open and close the bedroom which I don't think everyone would love. We had a room service dinner and the food was great and arrived all beautifully layed out on a trolley. We also had a massage at the Day Spa - Iskika (?) and the whole experience was sensational. We regret not packing our bathers as the indoor pool was gorgeous. The hotel connects by a walkway to the Crown Casino which was very handy when the night was cold and we were heading to dinner. As regular hotel people we could really recommend this hotel, our new fav!

Room Tip: Askl for a high floor

I have stayed at the Metropol a few times, the last occasion i was booking in at around 2pm, the senior staff member serving me asked me to wait a few moments as the room was very soon to be ready. We were left seated in the foyer for other 40 minutes, when i returned to the desk that senior member was no where to be seen. I had another staff member get us into our room. Apparently he had gone off to lunch and left us there.

As a frequent visitor to Melbourne, I have on occasion stayed at this hotel.

The rooms are modern and well kept. Room service comes from restaurant downstairs and isn't that crash hot. They encourage you to order sides because the mains don't come with anything. The vegetables come drenched in butter and the portions are small.

The Croen Towers is much better.

This hotel is ideally located with close proximity to the city, the entire Southbank precinct with all it's restaurants, cafes & entertainment and to the wonderful village atmosphere of South Melbourne with it's fabulous shopping and boutique food market. Serviced by a multitude of tram lines covering all directions in Melbourne make getting around a breeze. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. For a special treat get an upgrade to a loft apartment. Avoid the restaurants in the hotel as there is a plethora of choices at cheaper prices just outside your door. One of the best hotels in Melbourne

I stayed at the Crown Metropol during a conference and was amazed at how gorgeous this property was. Excellent lobby and eight lifts whisk you up to your room super quick. The rooms are clean and modern, with a huge shower and super comfy bed with a wall mounted LED TV with lots of pay television channels. I did not hear a peep at all in the three nights I stayed, and was super comfy throughout the entire stay.

The hotel is connected via skybridges to the Crown Entertainment Complex and also has some great fashion stores from level one.

Breakfast is in the Maze by Gordon Ramsay restaurant and is fantastic, whether you want something healthy or something a little more decadent.

The gym on the 27th floor is fantastic - it is easy to be inspired to do a run when overlooking the Melbourne skyline! The pool is also fantastic and is on the same floor.

The Crown Metropol may be a little more expensive than others, but if you are after a truly luxurious experience, you cannot go wrong here. I only hope I have another conference here soon!

Room Tip: Ask for a high level floor that faces the Melbourne skyline - absolutely gorgeous view!
