The staff were very helpful to the Wedding Caterers and Designers. Everyone was delighted.
It has great ambience for celebrating one of life's special events. Otherwise it is a light filled library to read in and there is opportunity to learn much of early Victoria..

We originally came to see the famous Ned Kelly suit of armour but were very surprised at what else was there - absolutely gob smacked at the Reading Room - WOW !!! Easy to get to & free - so no complaints here! Will definitely come back again.

I visited this library (for the first time) on my last day in Melbourne. I had come to see a preview performance of Les Miserables so I hoped to see the Victor Hugo/Les Miserables exhibition but unfortunately I overlooked the fact it wasn't due to commence until July.

The friendly man behind the counter suggested I do a free tour of the entire library. So following his advice I took a lift up to the 6th floor and worked my way down. The library is a beautiful spot to have some peace and quiet and wander through the interesting artifacts on display.

It's a shame I probably will not have a chance to come back for the exhibition, as Les Miserables is without a doubt my most favourite book and musical.

If you are looking for anything to do in Melbourne, do stop by the library and have a look around! It is a nice way to while away some quiet-time. Perhaps you may be lucky to catch an exhibition! Directly outside it is a great spot to sit and people-watch.

My partner and I spent a lot of time in this library in the January heat-wave, along with lots of others! We loved the peace and quiet, the free wi-fi, the fantastic Ned Kelly exhibition (including his armour and death mask) and the interactive room with video games and beanbags to lounge about on (people were even napping, as sleeping at night was difficult without air-con!). It's a beautiful building too.

The library had Ned Kelly's armour displayed on one of the upper floors, and it was an excellent presentation that surrounded it. Other item from his time were nearby, recommend it for true Aussie legend seekers.
