“Amazing”

If you get the chance go to this Library. They have great exhibits which apparently they change up every now and again. Its quite the library to see, such and immense place.

“Good old place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2012

This is actually a heritage building and I totally love the 3rd storey where they have those vintage lamps that acts as study lamps. Good place for revision and research.

“Free exhibits definitely worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

The building is beautiful inside and out. Great resource for research of course, but also there are regular free exhibitions that are well worth a look (not always just "books" either!).
I love the "ruins" sculptures "embedded" outside.
If you stop in the daytime outside, you will hear public speakers who may (or may not) challenge and/or inspire your thinking.

Or hey, just take your sushi from the Melbourne Central food court and sit on the lovely lawn (like so many others!) and eat, soak up the sun... and people-watch!

“A gem in the centre of Melbourne”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2012

The word "museum" or "library" can be a turn-off to some these days. How wrong they are. This is the repository of Victoria's fascinating history. Entry is free to this beautiful building in Swanston Street, the heart of the city.

Walk through the mutitude of students and others on their computers, into the magnificent reading room. Sydney has nothing like this. Take the elevator to the fourth floor to view Ned Kelly's armour, amidst the history of Victoria displays. The gold rush period, 1850s and following, are enduring and fascinating for me, and this is the real deal.

If you're not turned on by history, don't bother, or join the troglodytes on the ground floor tapping away at their computers or Iphones.
