“Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

We found this hotel very clean and quiet and was close to great restaurants and trams. The parking was nearby and easy to access from the Hotel. There were five of us and it was good that we had adjoining rooms. The staff were very efficient and helpful. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

If you want to go to Etihad Stadium for the football or a concert itis close by but for anything else forget it.just a bed small room, and do not even attempt the breakfast yuk,,,, go across to Docklands or find a restaurant close by.2 star at best.staff did not give clear directions from the car park back to the hotel.basically there are better places to stay.

I like to stay here for work as it is central, easy to drive to, avoids the main CBD, with a lot of parking in the multilevel behind the hotel. Access between car park and hotel is tricky for the uninitiated. A few good restaurants and cafes nearby. I have noticed the bathroom drain has an offensive smell the last few visits, it would be good if they fixed that. I had an unfortunate incident whilst staying there and the hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure that I was ok. Recommended.

Stayed here with a friend on a recent footy trip - it's very handy for Etihad stadium being just a five minute walk away. Our twin share room was on the 13th floor. There was no road or traffic noise at all. The room was perfect for our needs, had everything required for an over- night stay and was very clean.

The reception staff were attentive and friendly. If there was a negative it was that taxis do not seem in any hurry to pick up from here. Another guest and myself waited more than half an hour and then shared because only one came. Can't blame the hotel for this but maybe they, along with other hotels in the area could put more pressure on the taxi company to do better.

Room Tip: Higher floors have no street noise

Spend 4d3n at the hotel last week. The staff were really great! I arrived at the hotel after a midnight flight and was really tired . Rebecca checked us in really quickly so that my wife and i can have a good rest.James helped me with directions to places of interest. Erica helped to call my local tour when they failed to pick us up for the Philips island trip.

The hotel room is modern but do not have free wifi.

Breakfast variety is poor and the guests need to clean up the tables by clearing the used plates themselves to have space for their meals. Cafe only 30percent full but hundreds of used plates left uncleared on the tables. Every guest who came in was shaking their head in disbelief. Certainly not what we expected.

Dear Damien

Thanks for taking the time to comment on our hotel. Whilst I am pleased you found the team here friendly I am dissapointed that your experience at breakfast was not satisfactory.

I have investigated the issue which occurred on the weekend you stayed and we have implemented some measures that should prevent this from happening again.

I would welcome an opportunity to welcome you back and would urge you to contact me directly should you be returning to Melbourne.

Kind Regards

James Coleman

This hotel would have been great if it was just me and my husband staying there, but we have 2 children aged 6 & 7, and we found it didn't really cater for them. The kids were hungry during the day and there was nothing within the hotel for them to eat. (Apart from the mini bar) The hotel only offered breakfast (up until 9.30am weekdays) and room service was only available in the evenings, and there wasn't really an ideal selection of options to choose from. The room was quite small for a King room. Prior to arriving I called the hotel and asked for 2 rollaway beds to be placed in the room for our children. They said they only have a sofa bed available for $40 per night. I said ok - thinking that a sofa bed would be big enough for them both to sleep on. However when we got there the sofa bed was infact the size of a single rollaway bed, with a sofa style headboard. So this could only fit one child, and the other one had to sleep with us in our bed. For the price of room, with the extra $40 a night, we could have got 2 separate rooms with an interconnecting door at a different hotel nearby. Which is what we will do when we stay in Melbourne again. All in all, we found this hotel ok..but not child friendly.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We always appreciate feedback as it gives us a true picture of the guest experience. Unfortunately there is little demand for an onsite food outlet during the day however there is a restaurant close where you can charge the meal back to your room.

For future reference our rooms do offer a maximum occupancy of 3 guests and are not suitable for 4, however we do also offer interconnecting rooms as well as a two bedroom apartment with full kitchen and laundry facilities.

Kind Regards

Chanced upon this hotel when I bought a Wotif.com mystery hotel deal. This hotel is excellent for it's convenient location. Right next to the Southern Cross station, it's easy to get to and from the airport, and it's walking distance to Melbourne CBD. Access to trams are great. Room wise, it's new, clean, comfortable and stocks essential amenities. Staff are friendly and helpful. I will consider this hotel again in the future.
