I stayed in a deluxe balcony room at the Olsen in October 2012. The purpose of my stay was as a stopover before annd after an exhausting and long stretch of air travel. Hoping to nap ASAP, I headed over to the hotel a couple hours before check in to see if my room was ready. It wasn't but I was assured it would be available soon and was given drink tokens to use at the lovely Spoonbill restaurant. No dramas. The actual room is a haven, sophisticated and quirky without going too far with the 'modern' card. The balcony is big enough to stretch out and catch some Melbourne sunrays. The bed is really out of this world, the best in my opinion. The minibar is stocked with great options and the room service meals looked like good value. I highly recommend a stay at the Olsen, the location is excellent to experience the south end of Melbourne and famous Chapel street. Will return!!
