“Interesting fusion”

Visited with friends on a Saturday night. The place was absolutely packed, which is a good sign. Booking is a must. The service was very nice and friendly, just quite slow probably due to the number people dining that night. The food was good, interesting modern Asian with a twist. Certainly a pleasant experience. Check out their website for menus and prices before booking.

“Amazingly good value, excellent service & decor & yum food !”
Reviewed March 26, 2014

A friend & I met at Red Spice Road last night for their early sitting. Initially we thought it might be a bit tricky having to be out by 7.00, but we weren't actually hurried out & left about 7.15pm.
As a meal consumed as you leave work & before you go home and settle onto the couch, it works really well - early dinner is good practice for the nursing home.
The Express Banquet Menu requires you to order before 6.00pm and leave by 7.00, and for that you get an appetiser each and 3 shared mains for 2 people for $28.00 per person. The Pork Belly with Apple Slaw, Chilli Caramel and Black Vinegar was absolutely to die for, and the other dishes not far behind. There was far more food than 2 of us could possibly consume so I took great delight in sneaking into the bathroom for paper towels and taking 2 pieces of pork belly home!
The waiting staff were incredibly efficient, helpful, friendly and absolutely made the experience.
Decor is stunning & I can't wait to go back.

“Great atmosphere but food average”
Reviewed March 12, 2014 via mobile

I guess I had high expectations from all these reviews. The place was gorgeous and the service was good. The food was presented well but when I came to eat it, it was pretty average.

“Fab modern Asian w great wine and service”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

First: A word to the wise, don't eat here at peak times (Friday lunch for instance) as the crush and noise will inevitably make for a less leisurely meal. Of course, some of us like that sort of thing.

If you can find a less busy time, and I recently went on a Friday for late lunch, you will get great food and good wine recommendations from staff who aren't rushed off their feet.

There are the usual favourites, such as the Pork Belly or the Beef Cheek, but straying from the safer and known options to the less known corners of the menu will pay off wildly. And this is where being able to get some useful wine tips really helps.

Seating can be a challenge if there is a crowd in, communal tables are not for everyone. Still, I've had good luck booking separate tables most times and this is the way to go when it is really busy.

After several visits, this place stands up well. Certainly better than Longgrain has over the years.

I'm sure I'll be returning again soon. Ignore some of the trolls posting here, and book at sensible times.
