“Excellent hotel - Quest East Melbourne”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2012

My husband and I stayed at Quest East Melbourne last weekend (24-27Augut). What a great hotel, close to everything especially the MCG. Staff were great, very friendly. The rooms are terrific, very spacious. TV probably needs to be a little bigger, but was good. Would definitely recommend Quest East Melbourne. Very family friendly and good value.

I stayed at Quest East Melbourne on a recent business trip. This clean, comfortable little hotel sits about 2 kilometres outside of the CBD. It’s in a good location: across the road from the MCG, 100 metres from a tram stop and 400 metres from the nearest train station. The staff I dealt with were universally affable and helpful. The room itself was comfortable and tastefully furnished and featured a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, sink and hotplates.

There were only two things I didn’t like about the place: the TV was tiny; and the shower had the most useless shower curtain I’ve ever encountered, even a quick shower would cause the bathroom to flood like the Nile.

Overall though, I enjoyed my stay at Quest and would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: I stayed in a room facing the road and, while it was far from noisy, you could hear a bit of road an...

Great budget hotel, close to Epworth Hospital, MCG and Exhibition Buildings. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. They have in room dining delivered from outside places which was great, I had the veggie burger. The TV needs attention and is very small. The picture was not good but then I was really only there to sleep. Very quiet, I never heard guests or traffic, very peaceful. Friendly manager at reception.
I loved the art work by Jeff Makin. The whole feel of the hotel is like a cheaper version of the art house series The Cullen, Olsen and Blackman. Not quite as grand as these but still in the same style.
I wanted to be on that side of town so this was perfect and the right price.

Room Tip: rooms on the cul de sac residential side are quiet. Book a car park as they only have a few otherwis...

A modern nice clean place to stay and within easy walking distance to the MCG and city centre. The rooms are a little small for families but functionable with good cooking facilities. Parking is usually by permit in the quiet culdesac next to the hotel which is a safe place to park. There are only 3 parking spaces within the hotel so I would not bother trying to book one as you will more than likely be disappointed. The roof top area has fantastic views, is well furnished and is great for family or group meals.

Room neat and tidy .... bed comfortable .... shower and bathroom were clean and water pressure good .... but could only get a road facing room which meant noise from the traffic and trams .... as well as the crowd from the football after the game!! .... talked to the receptionist about a room change ... she was helpful but couldn't help as the hotel was full ... good transport (tram) or only a 2/3 km walk to the city centre .... if staying request a non-main road facing room!!
Booked for a business trip by another party .... would not stay there normally!!

Room Tip: Do not stay on the Wellington Rd side!!

My daughter and 2 grandkids stayed at this property on Saturday night because of the location and proximity to the Run 4 the Kids location. It was supposed to be an executive studio, not quite two bedroom but seperated by a bathroom. As we left it until the week before to book this was all that was available. For over $300 it was very poor. The first bed was just as you opened the door. The studio was really one big room and it was impossible to get kids to sleep as if you wanted to use the bathroom or watch the T.V you disturbed them. Also it was a fire trap and just behind reception, god knows what would happen in the event of a fire. Over the road held an all night party that didnt quiten until around 4.30 in the morning. A bit of a rip off really. Good location for shopping at Bridge Rd or MCG.

Room Tip: Ask not to have room 11, directly behind reception as you hear all the street noises.

With a team stop near the hotel it is very easy to get into the city and it's highlights. The rooms are not big but are well equipped. The service is fair. My clock radio wasn't working but nothing was done. Another room showed evidence of water leaks. There are many places to eat nearby. I would stay there again.
