This isn't like your usual tacky, USA inspired, take a any sweaty seat available and serve yourself after the children have decided to use their hands instead of the tongs, buffet. This is every food fantasy you've ever had and what life should be destined for.

Welcome to food heaven.

You begin your journey with salads and other little options, but let's be honest, this meal is not cheap, so don't bother with rabbit food (not to take away from how delightful the salad really is) - go for the hearty stuff!

The chef's interact with you at all stations, so ask whatever questions you please and they are always more than willing to help.

Stations include roasts, vegetables and the like; seafood (including sushi which they will make for you on the spot); stir fry; indian; spaghetti... EVERYTHING you could think of, not to mention the dessert - make sure you save room!

The experience is like non other, everything food and flavor of the world in one place.

Service is amazing with one staff member allocated to your table throughout your dining experience. Drinks are not included in the per head buffet, and these also do not come cheap - but that's ok!

Whether you’re up for a romantic dinner, a family night out or just a catch up with the girls make sure you wear clothes that have stretch in the fabric!

Don't miss this place while in Melbourne! Oh, and ask for a view of Southbank when you book your table - it's gorgeous!

Hubby booked the 2.30 to 4.30 sitting. We were led to a cozy corner and after a bit of a wait, the wait staff came over to explain how the high tea was going to be. Not sure if it would be different on different days, but we went on a Sunday (The Chocolate Bar Afternoon Tea), so on that day, we were given sparkling wine, our choice of tea each (refillable), and a high tea stand with 3 trays. Top level had savouries (ribbon sandwiches), 2nd level had scones with butter, jam and cream and the bottom level were egg tarts. Near the bar were the table filled with different kinds of chocolates in all their colourful splendour. Apparently, the chocolates came from different chocolate houses around the city. I was too engrossed on these little marvels that I failed to notice the trays near the window that offered more delectable delights. Unfortunately, we were both full by then. As we were enjoying our food, hubby was able to identify all the music being played by the piano guy. Hubby couldn't help himself and went to chat to the fellow. Hubby even managed to request him to play Aloutte by Paul Mauriat.

Great experience for special occasions and for those who love their chocolates.

Food was fantastic and our overall experience good. Unfortunately our table was near the cleaning up station and we didn't have a view of the Yarra like the rest of the diners, I bet we paid the same as they did though. They did mess up our drink orders twice on the day and I was billed for spirits we didn't receive but they corrected that when we left.

We stayed at Langham Melbourne and had breakfast at Melba restaurant. Unfortunately the breakfast was disappointing. The breakfast range and taste was not as wide as other 5 star hotel as I expected. Also I noticed some strawberries in the buffet were rotten. To their credit, when I told the manager about this they apologised and replaced it very quickly, but also very active in telling all their staff about the issue.
